Especially present in Uncommon Valor Campaign is an Ally AI teammate's disastrous ability to perform Amphibious invasions in Missions. Most noticeably in missions where the AI doesn't start with a HQ but with a navy instead. For instance, the AI seems to build an HQ from a ship, but If that HQ gets destroyed after landing on a beachhead they never seem to build another one ever again, even if you donate them a lot of money. You can imagine how frustrating it is that the AI always seems to lose their HQ early in Amphibious Invasion missions and then proceeds to never build another one ever again.

which campaign? the SP campaign or the WW2 Metagame?

I have spent very little time on the WW2 Metagame.

The Single player and expanded campaign

hmm, I'll have to look at the SP campaign SAI again. I test play the missions using the map editor or the random skirmish map interface. in this context the SAI that I assigned using the map editor takes over.

I haven't played them through the SP campaign interface yet. it could be that the game is over-riding the SAI templates I've assigned on the original maps with the SAI_Campaign... which is dreadful.

Not performing amphib invasions sounds more like a core SAI issue - the values for such a thing are encoded in the base sai_aa file, IIRC, or even core sai template file. They regard how to measure whether a LZ is safe or not, and what distance to be allowed to land away from the battleship. It could also be related to corps HQ truck actor value, though I doubt that and it is probably the same for all SAI templates (assumption without checking UV files)

Overall I highly highly doubt entire SAI profiles are being swapped out mid-game. Egos within a profile do this as they are defined, but not entirely distinct profiles (like - in vanilla terms - Zhukov SAI reverting to Russian Campaign SAI) There's simply no mechanism to do this aside from triggers.

Worth noting thelazarus is probably using a new templates_sai (i think it is that file and not templates_sai_aa) file I made to stop the AI from suicide-unpacking into enemy fortifications. This shouldnt effect willingness to actually land though - it is in the UnPack AI section, and i only changed the one line and everything else is from the latest UV release.
