The Jupiter-class corvette ingame!
Where does this ship come from in the lore? Or is it an original design?
It is an ENT era ship
Correct you see it in the scene where the enterprise is returning to earth after the Xindi attack being pursued by the klingons. This is one of the solar system defense ships seen during that scene.
And I think it's also seen during the battle of Ceti Alpha V in the ENT-episode "Twilight".
And in the opening credits too if I'm correct.^^
A corvette, ha, well I think it would fit very well as scout unit.
The Daedalus is looking to be the scout, as long-range exploration was its primary purpose.
The Jupiter class is a much older design, and obviously not in the same league as later starships like the Daedalus, or even the NX, when it comes to exploration. Its job was at first to test new warp engines (it broke the Warp 3 barrier), and later to support and defend Earth's colonies.
It will fit in quite nicely as a corvette.

Nah that is a separate ship in the opening sequence. Though the design is modified from that ship according to Mem-Alpha. The "Jupiter" as they're calling it in this mod was meant to be an upgraded/advanced version of the ship in the Opening.
