Light Frigate by any chance?
Corvette. Somewhat faster and more maneuverable than a frigate, ideal for harassing lightly defended enemy positions, disrupting supply lines, and diverting fire away from more valuable ships.
The Neptune class will be the Federation's light frigate, with the NX taking on a heavy frigate role.
