So we want to bring Team Fortress to AvP2. It shouldn't be too difficult, all of the weapons we need are already in AvP2, and configuring armor and run speeds and whatnot isn't too hard. What we need, however, is input on how this should go down, and modders to make the more difficult things happen, like possibly adding new weapons and more importantly, new GAME MODES, like Capture the Flag or Assault, things that teams do that aren't Team Deathmatch. However, this is AvP2 Fortress, so everything should have an AvP2 twist to it. Like Preds and Aliens on the teams realistically, but not whorishly. No Predator rocket-launcher guys, for example, but a Predator as the Spy, a class that's supposed to cloak and primarily use a knife anyway. -- SMID

After several weeks without an audio recording, we're back:

  • The assault game mode
    We played assault on the beta 2009-10-10. Although there are only three maps suited for this game mode, they can be quite entertaining.
    With this ocasion we discovered that the checkpoint mechanism we aimed for doesn't work well. The trigger that was supposed to teleport the player doesn't always do that. Plus, teleporting a player at a checkpoint doesn't work for maps that have two ways to reach the red base. We did solve the issue though, but if you want to know how, you'll have to listen the audio material.
  • Hostile Appetite
    That's Windebieste's upcomming map.

  • The TODO list
    • An autoupdate mechanism: very good progress there
    • A custom launcher: this will be usefull to load custom maps
    • Make a skin for the Enterprise prop

And yes, also the test session video is back:



You'll see me using the night vision a lot, as a red defender. It's a usefull device, especially for the pyro using the flamethrower: the muzzle flash from the shotgun or pistol seem to knock out the device for a good second.

We're doing OK. Version 1.1 will be released this year for sure, we just want to make sure we didn't forget anything.
