Description

New, improved instalment of AtmosFear, the most popular weather mod for Call Of Pripyat. 120+ new photorealistic textures. New environment sounds from Ambient Audio Overhaul. Completely reworked blowout sequence. Version 2.1 is less RAM hungry, has integrated AtmosFear: Fallout and couple of bugs fixes.

v.2.1 CHANGELOG

  • Integrated AtmosFear 2: Fallout
  • Acidic fallout degrades the armor/helmet
  • Stripped alpha channel from all sky textures.
It should now require 1/4 less RAM than v2.0. For Ultra textures option it should save around 400MB.
  • Fixed bugs:
    • It is possible to survive blowout with 'Marked by Zone' achievement no matter which blowout option is chosen during install
    • Blowout wave disappears when anabiotic drug is used to survive the blowout.
    • AF: Fallout doesn't mess the stats. 'Artifact hunter' is not given immediately after install anymore.
    • AF: Fallout acid rain sound is now properly commented.

Thats unrealistic. It would be better if you wont take any damage from the blowout wave.

Anabiotics make you unconscious in order to survive the blowout. This is just a fix for the bug that caused the wave to stay forever if you take it when it's coming.

do you mean "antibiotics"? and how do they cause you to become unconscious?

Anabiotics are implemented in the vanilla game, allowing you to survive a blowout without shelter. An effect of said anabiotic is unconsciousness, which I would presume somehow affects you not dying.

Can this be installed over 2.0, or do I need a fresh install?

It could if you use the same components/options during install. I'd rather recommend uninstalling to avoid unecessary problems.

Hey Cromm,

I am having a lot of trouble with any version of this mod (1.2 - 2.1) It always crashes when loading the level. If i delete my user.ltx and then start a new game it loads fine. However if i then change my settings to DX11, when i restart it NEVER loads the level. I always get "XrayEngine 1.6 has stopped working".

Fresh install
no mods
12gb ram, ati 5870's in crossfire.

Thanks if you can help because i am desperate to play this awesome mod!

Never tested it on DX11 myself but I know from other people that it works fine. What system do you have (32 or 64bit)? Also I can't guess what is causing the problem based on "XrayEngine 1.6 has stopped working" message without any log.

After a long waiting period it works!
I think the game looks better @ dx11 without the mod öÖ
But I keep the mod installed because it was very nice to play with @ dx10 :)

I've seen your specs on FileFront. It's rather not RAM issue. I assume that it works fine in DX9/DX10. If so, it seems like some kind of DX11 issue. Try to disable crossfire and see what happens.

Hey, got the same problem as jonny2410. I can load, most of the time, a new game but it crashes randomly about 2 3 min of game. Windows just says that xray engine stopped working.

I think a friend almost solved it by changing some ultra settings into high/normal. Tried it for me, still doesn't work.

His configuration :
Core2Duo E6600
4 Gb RAM
Radeon 4870X2 1Gb
Windows 7 64 bits

Mine's:
Core2Duo E8400
4Gb RAM
Radeon 4870 1Gb
Windows 7 32 bits

If all of you have solutions, please tell me.

Probably the RAM issue, read F.A.Q (features section).
BTW 4GB on 32bit system is a waste of RAM.

In STALKER case it is a waste as the game allocates max 2GB on 32 bit systems. Do you have any other mods/hi res textures installed? And do you play in DX11 mode?

Hey there, first off some awsome work again on the mod but i have a little problem.

The instalation worked without any problems but the last part wont work quite right.

5) Save backup of your settings by entering: cfg_save user_bak.ltx
6) Load desired AtmosFear settings by entering: cfg_load user_atmosfear.

i did make a backup of my user.ltx but i have not found any user_atmosfear.ltx anywhere.

In the old version the file had to be placed in "C:UsersPublicDocumentsS.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Call of Pripyat" but there didnt appear a new one nor is there anywhere else a file with that name included in the instalation.

It appears I have a crash whenever I try to go to Zaton, at least from Jupiter.

I don't know if it's related and I don't know how to view error messages (it just tells me to submit the bug) so I can't offer much. All I know is I'm running in Full Dynamic (Regular) and I have an AMD dual core (I have no idea what type) ADI Radeon X1450, on a laptop, with Win7. Thats all I got.

Actually, never mind. It appears that the crash may have been from a blowout that occurred when moving. It's still a bug, and I still don't have the crash log.
