Arx – End Of Sun is a fan made modification / total conversion that is based on the first person dungeon RPG : Arx Fatalis, developed by Arkane Studios. This is a fan made prequel to the original story of Arx Fatalis.

As previously noted, there is only a two man team doing all the work, including all kinds of jobs from modelling props, programming, texturing etc...
Unfortunately we just can't do everything, we need some help with some pieces of the development.
We have been asking around on different sites to get some help, but we are getting ignored for now. We know our mod does not have a big name, and the Doom 3 engine has been underrated or just ignored (yeah we understand there are better alternatives), but we would like to see a stop to the engine war, we are trying to create a game we are very passionate about. We choose the Doom 3 engine because it has just what we need, so don't be let down by misconceptions, and if you want to help please don't hesitate to join.
Concept Illustrator/Artist
- As Concept Illustrator/Artist you will be responsible to provide artwork for the cut scenes and background screens for the menus, plus concept arts for characters and monster for the 3D artists to produce the needed models.
- The knowledge of Arx Fatalis are not needed but a plus.
3D Character Artist
- As 3D Character Artist you are responsible of the production of character/monsters models using the work of the concept artist as base.
- The ability to bake normal maps from hi-poly models is required.
- The knowledge of Arx Fatalis are not needed but a plus.
- The knowledge of MD5 model format is not required but a plus.
Now some things we need to clarify:
In some previous months, in other forums and gaming sites someone suggested that Arkane Studios is producing content for this mod. We want to deny it because is not true.
Arkane Studios is giving us only the permission to use their IP and offering us a moral support. Any assets you see in Arx - End of Sun have been produced by us. In the previously released demo video there are original Arx Fatalis sounds, but those are just temporary.
Recently Arkane Studios has been acquired by Bethesda Softworks. We sent an e-mail to the Bethesda community manager Matt Grandstaff. We have received a positive response and we have full permission to continue the mod development.

good that bethesda allowed you to continue this and wasn't unfair as Gamesworkshop because they had shutdown many awesome things
Arx Fatalis was a fantastic game :) Keep this mod (err.. G.A.M.E.) alive!

A suggestion: Why not to change to the UDK? This would help to attract more attention.

It's hard to change a engine right in the middle of the development when you did so much SDK work (what's that :D) . UDK is alot easy to maneuver yes, and Doom 3 engine is underrated. *Sigh* If they could think bout what this engine can do.
Maybe you guys could ask if you can share assets with the dark mod team your mods are very similar as levels objects is concerned.
We already did, but you know Arx lore have some different things that are not in TDM, like goblins, trolls and serpent women, so we still need original assets.
I liked the original game i hope this mod will be released!!
I might have some time to help with some artwork - though you'd have to give me a detailed brief and timeline before i could definately commit (mostly to ensure i have time, and i can indeed be of help).

Rather than trying to get anyone to commit to anything at an early stage, what we are going to ASAP is get some images together of the original game assets that we would like to include in the new mod such as environments and original creatures etc, perhaps you could then take a look and see if it is the sort of thing you would be interested in doing?
