Ages of the Federation is a new total conversion mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion. This mod takes place in the Enterprise and Original series eras, focusing on the conflict between the early Federation and Klingon Empire. A resurgent Romulan Star Empire, angry and still licking its wounds after their defeat to Earth and her allies waits in the shadows, ready to take advantage of any of misstep by either the warring powers. The Xindi, new to the galactic stage are also eager to forge their own path.
A vital piece of Klingon infrastructure, the Imperial Communications Relay allows quick and clear subspace communication across the Klingon Empire's vast domain. Though the range of subspace communication is theoretically limitless, its practicality is limited by time and interference. A subspace signal traveling across the vast distances of space can take days or even weeks to arrive at its destination, depending on distance, and the greater the distance, the greater the chance that the message will be garbled, corrupted or blocked entirely by subspace interference. The more powerful the signal, the greater the chance of successful delivery. Each Imperial Communications Relay is equipped with some of the most powerful subspace antennae at the Empire's disposal. Linked to the Imperial subspace network, these stations ensure that every message, data file and Imperial broadcast reaches its destination.
