Thanks, man. It's one of the last models our friend, Amargosa, made for us before he passed away in a road accident. It's always nice to be able to continue to show off his talent.

Description

USS Apollo pursues and destroys Klingon stragglers after the Empire is forced to retreat from the Axanar system.

The Klingon retreat from Axanar, while not an utter rout, was disorganised. Though much of what remained of their fleet attempted to maintain discipline as they withdrew, many stragglers lagged behind or refused to retreat altogether, these wayward ships being chased down and destroyed by Starfleet forces. Occasionally Klingon ships would break off and attempt a delaying action or counterattack, but these efforts were poorly planned and ineffectual. It quickly became clear that the Klingons, at the height of their arrogance, had simply not expected to lose at Axanar, and had made no contingency plan to fall back. The loss of their flagship and fleet commander certainly didn't help matters. The defeat was a humiliation for the Imperial fleet, and caused an uproar in the Great Hall when the High Council received word of the loss.

The Federation's victory at Axanar was echoed along much of the front line, though to a less spectacular degree. With the Klingons having devoted so many ships and resources to their failed push at Axanar, Starfleet forces, for the first time in two years, started pushing the Klingons back, slowly retaking the Federation's lost territory.

The war was finally going the Federation's way.

On the home front, the USS Xenophon was towed to the nearest Federation fleet yard for repairs. Due to his fame and status as a well known military leader and hero across the Federation, the extent of Captain Kelvar Garth's injuries were not widely reported. An explosion on the Xenophon's bridge had cost him two limbs (his left arm and leg), and deep burns covered most of his remaining body. More worryingly, he had suffered a critical brain injury. Comatose but stable, 23rd Century medicine could repair many of Garth's injuries. That said, his doctors knew that it was unknown, and unlikely, whether Garth of Izar would ever be the same man again.
