Man, When this comes out I'm going to have to set up some of these scenarios. Too cool man, too cool. And how fitting that Starfleet shows up to help the Andorians. I bet that only strengthened the coalition and probably enraged and dumbfounded the Romulans.

I think that's still stock. We have yet to import our own planet system.

That said, yes - the Sins planet textures really improved over time.

I feel like this is how the Romulans make the Andorians salty enough that we have a real war on our hands!

Description

The Romulans engage the Imperial Guard during the assault on Andoria.

Although the Andorian Empire had not committed their full strength to the Earth-Romulan War, for more than three years the Imperial Guard had given Starfleet just enough support to keep Earth from being overrun by the invading Romulans.

Humanity's impact on the region had impressed the Andorians. Their role in ending the conflict between Andoria and Vulcan and their direct influence in the formation of the Coalition proved that humans, and in particular Starfleet, were worthy allies. Even if they were somewhat...primitive. And foolishly idealistic. And almost as ugly as the Vulcans.

The Imperial Guard's military assistance had been invaluable to Starfleet's efforts. The Guard was better trained, more experienced and had access to far better equipment than Starfleet at the time. The presence of an Andorian battlecruiser could mean the difference between light casualties and disastrous losses for Starfleet during a Romulan assault.

It was for this reason that the Romulans attacked Andoria. Though human treachery had led to their defeat in the Sol system, the Romulan Imperial Navy continued to believe that a decisive victory over any of the major Coalition worlds would lead to the Coalition splintering. Earth was the diplomatic force that bound the Coalition together. Andoria was its military backbone.

The Romulan fleet set out from Denobula once more. Sixteen warships dropped out of warp in the Andorian system. An eight ship detachment of the Imperial Guard waited near Andoria, ready to defend their frozen homeworld.

The battle was viciously fought. Being outnumbered two to one did nothing to curb the tenacity of the Andorian defence. Nevertheless, the Romulans pushed the Andorians to the brink. In a strangely fitting reversal of fate, it was the arrival of Starfleet that saved the day, forcing the Romulans to withdraw before combined Earth and Andorian reinforcements could arrive.
