"Comms put me fleetwide. All ships this is the Admiral. We were lucky to get here first, but that doesn’t mean we can relax. We still don’t know how many there are or what classes we’ll be facing, but expect this to be the fight of your lives. We need to hit them right when they drop out of warp.” - Admiral Jefferies

“As we close on our foe, we must remember why we are here. We are here not just for glory, not just for honor, but for the survival of the Klingon Empire!” - Captain Karga

“What we do in the coming hours will determine the fate of this quadrant. The fate of the Federation. We cannot take even one step back.” - Admiral Jefferies

“The foe we face today has proven that they are no fools and have earned the respect of many as fellow warriors. But they are still our enemy and we will gladly send them to Sto Vo Kor!” - Captain Karga

“Hold the line, no matter what. Constitution will lead the charge and keep that D-7 busy for as long as we can. All others should engage the Klingons two to one where you can. We won’t have the numbers to face them ship to ship, so fight smart.” - Admiral Jefferies

“We lead the largest fleet this war has seen! Perhaps the largest the Empire has ever seen! It will be the Mek’leth we use to carve the heart from our enemy! We will rend them asunder and teach them to never oppose the Empire ever again!” - Captain Karga

“I know each and every one of you will bring your best to this. Reinforcements won’t get here in time. So we are it; we are the shield that will meet them and push them back!” - Admiral Jefferies

“Now for wrath! Now for ruin! And the red dawn! We go to battle!” - Captain Karga

“The day may come when our courage fails and we forsake our bonds of fellowship. In the hour of wolves and shattered shields when the Federation comes crashing down. But it is not this day. This day we fight!” - Admiral Jefferies

“And it will be Glorious.” - Captain Karga

Description

The outskirts of the Donatu system, where the final major battle of the Four Years War would be fought.

The speed and trajectory of the vanguard force spearheading the renewed Klingon invasion of Federation space meant that it would cross the border not far from Arcanis, where the conflict had begun. As the Klingon and Federation fleets raced towards each other, they would eventually meet in the Donatu system, and engage in the final large-scale engagement of the war.

An uninhabited star system of seven planets that held little of value to either power, Donatu was all but ignored as inconsequential until the closing days of the Four Years War. Later generations would consider it symbolic of the senselessness of the conflict, that the war's final battle should be fought in such an insignificant place neither side valued.

The Federation fleet was the first to arrive at Donatu, and found little that could offer an advantage. Donatu was little more than a metaphorical open field. Still, it offered one significant opportunity - to engage the Klingon fleet on equal footing, far from Federation civilian populations. The odds were even.

Starfleet had only one goal. Pushing back their vanguard forces had the potential to stall the Klingon invasion before it could begin. Though the war had taken considerably longer and been much more difficult than they had intially estimated, the Klingons still believed that ultimate victory was inevitable. That said, reports indicated that the Klingon leadership had grown frustrated with the war, with a growing feeling among the members of the High Council that a such a victory over the Federation would be a pyrrhic victory at best that threatened to bring the Empire to its knees in the long-term. If their invasion force was routed, the Empire could possibly be convinced to end their war against the Federation.

It was a long shot. Starfleet was sure of only one thing - the war had to end, and if they won, it could end at Donatu.
