This mod takes place in the Enterprise and Original series eras, focusing on the conflict between the early Federation and Klingon Empire. The Xindi, new to the galactic stage are also eager to forge their own path.
USS Yorktown is ravaged by an unidentified attacker.
The Battle of Regulus marked the end of Starfleet's rapid advance. The Klingons, at long last, deemed Starfleet to be a worthy adversary. Unfortunately, their newfound respect for the Federation's strength manifested in heavier defences and more aggressive, less predictable counterattacks. The Klingons began applying their full mastery of war against the Federation, and as more Klingon ships and resources were diverted to the war effort, Starfleet's advance slowed to a crawl.
Meanwhile, USS Yorktown, veteran starship of the Earth-Romulan War, was patrolling the Castor system. Far from the war zone, Castor was considered secure. Commanded by Captain Ahmed Ibrahim, Yorktown was not expecting trouble.
A sudden sensor contact brought Yorktown's quiet patrol to an end. It appeared a ship was stalking the Yorktown, using the rocky planetoid at the edge of the system as cover. Ordering the crew to battlestations, Captain Ibrahim moved his ship to intercept. Arriving at the contact's last known coordinates, Yorktown found nothing, but immediately picked up another contact behind one of the planetoid's moons. Once more moving in, Yorktown again found nothing.
Captain Ibrahim had the distinct feeling he was being toyed with, and gave the order to withdraw. Yorktown moved cautiously away.
Suddenly the ship was rocked by an intense barrage of disruptor fire. The shields were overwhelmed almost immediately, and Yorktown suffered critical damage as a very large, unidentified warship emerged from behind the planetoid's second moon. Another volley hit, followed by a photon torpedo. The Yorktown was finished.
With most of his bridge crew dead, Captain Ibrahim personally launched the ship's log buoy and fired a single, full power phaser blast at the enemy. It would not be said that Yorktown went down without a fight.
Seconds later, the old starship succumbed to her injuries and was destroyed. There were no survivors.
