Glorious!

I always love how willing to Andorians are to leap to the aid of Earth,
Can't wait to see some Andorian ships in action.

Will Fed players be able to call in Vulcan, Tellarite, and Andorian ships similar to how Dominion players can call in Son'a ships in STA3?

The Vulcan scene in Axanar (made before the lawsuit) showed Vulcan ships newer than what we saw in Enterprise in orbit. I think we can infer from this that members of the early Federation maintained local defense forces in addition to supplying personnel and technology to Starfleet. It makes sense that full integration was a longer term process.

(I haven't read any of the post Enterprise/pre TOS books yet. Just going off what I've seen in Axanar. I don't know if there are any contradictions needing to be resolved).

At least some Federation members maintained their own security forces well into the 24th Century, Vulcan being one example. The Federation isn't a centralised empire - each member world exercises a great degree of autonomy.

As for the lore here, we're drawing from as many sources about the Four Years War and the Earth-Romulan War as we can find and trying to combine aspects of them into our own, cohesive interpretation of these parts of Federation history.

Fair point about the UFP not being a centralised empire. But in the show, I remember that when new members joining was being discussed, the subject of integrating local forces into Starfleet came up once or twice. I guess this became standard practice by the TNG era.

Bust as I said, I don't know the lore up until TOS very well. Most of the books I've read so far are from the post TNG era.

I suppose it can go both ways. The Federation provides as much or as little support for member worlds as they desire.

Description

The Andorian battlecruiser Docana engages the Romulans alongside the United Earth cruiser Argo.

The Coalition of Planets was formed in the face of Romulan aggression. The Romulan Star Empire's long term goals were, of course, to expand into the Alpha Quadrant. That the regional powers were divided and perpetually at each other's throats made that goal all the more attainable. Covert manipulation sowed further division and at times outright conflict, and kept the powers of the Vulcan Command, the Andorian Empire and Tellar Prime weakened and blind to external threats. The very notion that these disparate races would unify or were even capable of doing so was laughable to the Romulans.

Unfortunately for the Romulans, however, their plans backfired when their covert activities were exposed after a sequence of events known collectively as the Babel Crisis. Local governments realised that their enmity had been manipulated and used against them by a greater, more elusive threat. With United Earth spearheading both the exposure of Romulan operations and the formation of an official alliance between the various governments, the Romulans saw years of preparation swept away. Their plans of expansion would not be so easily attainable after all.

When the Earth-Romulan War began Earth quickly called upon its Coalition partners for aid. Though Vulcan and Tellar both initially chose not to intervene militarily, the Vulcans offered access to their formidable intelligence network, and were instrumental in shoring up the defences of Earth outposts, while the Tellarites provided vital logistics support. The Andorians, however, offered military assistance and their formidable warships were common sights during the conflict, often coming to the aid of Earth outposts under heavy attack, where their superior speed and firepower were most needed.

It is an undeniable fact that the Earth-Romulan War would have been quickly lost if not for the combined efforts of the Coalition.
