Hilarious how people are fond, or at least tolerant of, Enterprise now. I well remember everyone claiming to hate it at the time ("it's not even called Star Trek!" "Ahhh, the opening theme!" "everything looks too advanced!" "wahhhhh!").

I also remember those complaints. In my opinion Enterprise's biggest sin was that overall it tended to be a bit dull. It never reached the heights of TNG or DS9, and so I guess it came across to some as a bit disappointing. That said, there were a number of really good episodes in the first two seasons and the show really started to spread its wings in its second half. Whatever people say of it, in my opinion Enterprise made the effort and earned its place in the Star Trek pantheon.

I feel like if Enterprise got it's full 7 seasons, it would have been just as good as DS9. Season 4 was simply fantastic.

Eh, I watched it and it was okay but I still hate the opening theme. It was terrible and always will be.

I for one wasn't very happy with the first few episodes of Enterprise, but the show got better by the end of season 1. Only a relative minority of fans truly hated it from what I saw. As Orion said, it made the effort to try and fit into the canon rather than recreate it, and I always appreciated that. Moreso now I've seen what's come after, which is why I think people are bringing it up imo. I have some issues with parts of season 3, but season 4 made up for it. It's at least as good as Voyager in my book.

STD on the other hand spits on what came before and feels soulless. Mikey Spock especially ****** me off and only one of the other characters, that Saru dude, is even remotely likable. I gave up on it after the premiere and reviews of subsequent episodes I read from trusted people proved to me I made the right choice. I didn't think it was possible to set the bar lower than Into Darkness did, but CBS showed I was wrong. I guess that's an achievement in a way...

I know there are fans who genuinely like Discovery (which is fine by me btw even if I don't understand why), but they seem to be in the minority this time around. It's not fair to compare the fan reaction to Enterprise imo.

Ah, i have to say, shes a beautiful ship. A lot of people hate Enterprise, i happen to quite like it! Its got a great Captain, a great Ship, its story's where not the best at the start, but they got better. Shame it had it end so soon. Can't wait to use this ship in the mod when it comes out!

*Cleans off dusty Keyboard*,
I actually liked Enterprise.A lot of what people saw wrong with it begins to make since when you remember that the eugenics wars happened in the 80s, and 90s, devastating most Networks and knocking humans down to a Fascist way of thinking until shortly before the first contact with the vulcans

Description

Enterprise NX-01, as she appeared at the time of her launch in 2151.

The dawn of 2164 saw the birth of a fundamental Starfleet institution - Starfleet Academy. Though a comparatively modest academy had existed since the 2140s for the training of Starfleet personnel, the new Federation Starfleet required and demanded an extensive, state of the art academic and practical training facility. Based in San Francisco, the new Starfleet Academy employed intensive curiculi and instructors drawn from across the Federation.

It was also at this time that Starfleet arrived at a decision regarding the fate of its first deep space starship - Enterprise NX-01.

Enterprise, under the command of Jonathan Archer, had become something of a symbol. The efforts of Archer and his crew had been instrumental in bringing together the worlds that would form the Federation. Archer himself was a trusted and influential voice in diplomatic relations between Federation worlds, and continued to play an important role as a mediator. Enterprise's position as Earth's first Warp 5 starship, combined with the fact that it had not only survived, but taken a leading role in the Earth-Romulan War, cemented its status as an embodiment of Starfleet's mission, and a symbol of Starfleet's enduring spirit and determination. Because of its eminent status, it was decided that Enterprise would be decommissioned and preserved for posterity.

Though quite vocal about his belief that Enterprise still had many years of service to give, Commodore Archer took his ship on one last cruise before finally ordering Enterprise back to space dock, and into retirement.

Archer himself was promoted to Admiral, and was transferred to Starfleet Academy. His experience as a starship captain - combining the roles of an explorer, a soldier, a diplomat, a commander and a leader - would prove insrumental in shaping the next generation of Starfleet officers, and his influence would continue to be felt for generations to come.
