Found some free time to release another version of AOA, hope you enjoy, I won't say this is the final version, but we are getting close :) See change log below...
Fixes:
- Fixed kingdom decree selection not working from last update.
- Fixed a bug when attacking cities and a spy opened the gates for you.
- Fixed lady not recognizing you if set to lover during a feast event.
- Fixed another issue with duels during feast events.
- Fixed an issue if you started an affair, but dialog wasn't giving you more options later.
- Fixed a potential issue with Peartoc
- Some other minor bug fixes and polishing.
New Stuff:
- Added 5 more dynamic events.
- Added kingdom economy tab to reports.
- Increased hire costs of merc companies from 5000 to 10,000 (balance)
- Changed schools to monuments to better reflex the times (same effects though)
- Added more detail to what is effecting kingdom loyalty via your minister.
- Holding too many feasts or banquets in a month now runs the risk of becoming fat
- Holding too many banquets or drinking games now carries the risk of becoming an alcoholic
Fix for battle lag!
That's right, now those who have suffered from lag have some new options to turn off the advanced battle AI via the camp options page. This will unfortunately return battles to native, but for those experiencing really bad lag - at least they are playable now.
AI Update
- Added a number of AI kingdom decisions that add more depth and challenge for the player.
- AI Kings/Queens will now make these decisions based on their personalities and current kingdom needs.
- These include...investing in industry, increasing farmland, building buildings in their settlements (just like the player), hiring merc companies, raising more armies, and much more.
- The king will now also have a slight more prominent role in planning / influencing strategy and marshal decisions.
One thing that bugged me about native was the lack of kingdom management options for the AI, and the fact that kings did very little one way or another to improve their kingdoms. This AI update will help address this.
Although this is a fairly big update, most of the changes dealing with AI will be somewhat hidden from the player. You will however notice a more challenging game as kingdoms are now harder to conquer and overall smarter at finding ways to beat you. Now even a weaker Kingdom can grow into a serious threat with the right ruler.
Thank you for the mod and the update! Awesome work.

Can I just take a moment to tell you how awesome you are? I really love this mod, specifically because there's so much more to do compared to your "competition". I truly can't thank you enough! This mod is still my favorite of them all!
Anyways, if you continue to update the game from here, might I make some suggestions/ask questions:
1. Question: Is Lancelot in the game? Never ran into him.
2. Dublin should probably be renamed "Eblana"; Dublin proper was founded by Vikings
By the way, that serial killer event is hilarious! Really surprised me!
Anyways, Thanks a lot for the update. This game is way too fun!
Thank you so much! To answer your questions Lancelot is kinda in game, he is one of your possible companions, but you might not recognize them as I changed their name to the more historical version Lamhcalad. I did mean to change Dublin too, but wasn't sure what to call it, I will make that change if there is another update.

To be honest i was really surprised to see update to this mod. This is probably the best mod i have ever played. I'm playing it for whole day now (again). And thank you for keeping this mod alive. I enjoy in this mod since is full with a lot of stuff. Keep working it's 100% worth it. They are small buggies like when i was in one of the towns i was just camping there and the game closed after a while. But it's okay since when i started again it was working well. (So it might be my game also, but i said to mention).
Thank you, could be a memory issue, I know this mod takes a lot, always make sure you are running it without open browsers or other programs and save often.
Your work on this mod is amazing and the whole historical part made me curious to know more about the King Arthur and his knights. One thing I noticed when I played the last version (6.0) but don't know if that's intentional was that the cities I founded do not receive caravans, leaving their economy dependent on the surrounding villages. Is there anything I can do to make them attractive to trade? Thanks for this incredible mod!
Thanks! One thing you can try is forming trade treaties with other kingdoms and this will create a new caravan route, but its kinda random on what cities of yours will receive the caravan. Native set these at game launch, but I did try to make them more dynamic with trade agreements.
Thank you very much! This mod is better than many hyped games around here. Great mod, keep the good work!
I like this mod really.
I wish we can perform necromancy, we can steal items from captured lords, can build more structures and can create own religion.
All good ideas, maybe in another update :)
I'm excited right now.
You're the best!
Hello Thank you for your work.
Thank you for the update. Sounds great. This is one of the very best mods I've played. Thanks for all the hard work!
we have the same taste. what are the other bests?
Awesome mod and awesome update! This is my favorite mount and blade mod! I have a question though, is it possible to build castles? And if it isn't would you consider adding that mechanic in a future update?? Thank you for giving us such a fun mod :)
Thank you. Yes you can build one castle in game by upgrading your refuge enough times. I think its after the 3rd upgrade it gives you the option of making it a permanent castle.

Weird, the captain has never given me an option to upgrade past the 3rd upgrade
You do have to have a kingdom of your own already for the option to be available.
I see, I never noticed because I always play as Arthur's vassal :P

Hello my Lady, I would like to thank you for this wonderful mode... I have a question and a suggestion... My question is that I built my village by the sea and Update it into a town, but I don't know how to build a port there?
My suggestion is that we create a Facebook group for this wonderful mod so that we can help each other...Thank you...You are the best
how close to the sea were you? I did increase the paramotors in the script, but I think you still need to be really, really close for it to work. I'll test it again and probably increase the range a bit so you don't have to be so close in future.
The best mode ever!!! How much time should I wait for my child to grow?
The son / daughter belongs to the player's or husband's / wife's culture? It's possible to choose the religion of your heir too? Your mod is great but I have one suggestion, maybe an event with the picts in the case you are a pagan to overthrow the christian king and reinstall paganism? That would be awesome in my opinion, anyway good mod, it's even better than Viking Conquest.
Hi, your son/daughter should be the religion you are when growing up. If not for some reason, you can always ask them to change as an adult if they are a lord under you. I actually did have an event like you mentioned in there for if/when the picts became pagan again, but took it out as it was causing an issue with another script. I will look at putting something similar back in for another update.
And about the heir's culture? It follows the one of the player or you can educate and choose? For example if I'm a frisian and married a romano-briton lady, my heir will be of my culture or I can choose for him to follow the mother side? Oh and in the case I become a king, can I choose the Kingdom's culture or it follows mine automatically?
Sorry for the bunch of questions but I'm new to this mod and still learning, even so I liked your work very much.
Do you think you could reintroduce horse archery into the mod? I know that it's not necessarily historical, but it would be cool to RP as the son of a Sarmatian horse archer auxiliary defending Rheged's portion of Hadrian's Wall.

I believe I have found two bugs, when I win a championship the money from my bets doesn't come back, I only receive the 300 denarii prize and also the healer can't cure light wounds (the HP's bar value doesn't go up even if you try multiple times).
Yeah, so i've been playing this mod for three years already, and I still don't know how I trigger the "Roman re-birth" questline. If a good soul out there knows how to do it, please, tell me...
Start as foreign and join any romano briton faction after you have more reputation it will start randomly i have already finish the quest
I'll try this one, thanks.

Lady Ashwood, I've gone on before about how much I love this mod, and that certainly has not changed! This is a brilliant work of art! Thank you for sharing it with us all!
I brought it up on the main page, and have discussed it with you before, but *please* add one or more bandit groups to the seas! Those ships seem so inviting, and I know ship combat is in the game. I'm dying to see the continent, and enjoy sick seaborne battles, but ships are very expensive. I spend a lot of time and effort raising money, getting more and more excited as I get closer and closer to the price of the ship. Then I need some lumber, wool, tar-- okay no problem, if I get to take my warband to sea and engage in some sick sea battles!
--but then Sea Battles are almost non-existent and after all that work, it feels disappointing. You have made a nearly perfect game from Warband. What it really needs though is a bandit faction or two or three to highlight the feature that already exists. It is also accurate to the time period.
If you really wanted to get crazy, I'd love a feature where caravans taken by sea don't hurt your relationship with their faction, because they'll never know who did it-- but I don't want to ask for too much lol
Anyone who agrees please give it a +1 to get it to the top of the page!
Yaaay we love this mod still playing it
This is a great mod! But I found two bugs and one worries me a little: I got two villages and a town and already a month or so happened yet the villages never go from "very poor" to poor I have to wait more? and when doing a sparring the game set me back to the intro when saxons attacks the homestead for some reason.
Anyway, beyond those is quite a great mod and I wish it got more updates 'cause this one is top tier.
My favorite mod of all time!! I really love this mod and I really love your efforts and ideas. As a student in software engineering field myself, I know how it is annoying to sit on the table all the time, but I really want this mod to continue developing(Well sorry it may make you busy xD). Thank you very much for this mod!
Hey, I love this mod although I started playing yesterday, but I ran into a big problem! I just found out heavy equipment deteriorates your skills. I don't want that to happen, because I hate getting shot with an arrow from across the map and losing 20+ health immediately, but I also hate when my athletics and other skills are stuck at a 0. I went into the mod options, unchecked the "Gear affects skills" box, but my agility skills are still stuck at 0! What should I do?

The size of the battle in sieges is buggy, the enemy receives reinforcements and completes their numbers but my side takes the amount as if it was a battle size of 150.
Because the mod has the battle size at 150 in the settings and 750 in the camp menu, would you be able to fix it to look like the viking conquest? This thing is very boring and my sieges are impossible because the enemy has 10x more soldiers in battle....
EDIT: Testing better I saw that it seems that it's only at the Clausentum siege now I don't know if it's because of the ram or something else but testing in other cities didn't happen the same thing...
Merlin has disappeared from my game, and now I cannot finish the quest, I took his firestones from him before the battle against mab, I closed my game accidently during the battle and when i reloaded merlin was missing and the lady of the lake told me to find him. Im playing on realistic (No quitting without saving) so I have no idea how to fix this
Hey i have suggestion other mods and your mod have Possibility give for own kingdom treasure money max is 10 000 what if, You would change amount to give for treasure like 100 000 or 1 000 000 bcs if someone have very long one save then he have a lot of troops and patrols and also money. If you have a lot of patrols cost of army is very big and you are paying for them from kingdom money but if you don't have enough you can lost a lot of troops from patrols.
I agree with quest, and also there is one problem also I mean if you play with story. Where you are Son/Daughter Dux Ambrosius Aurelius from the kingdoom of Briton, it should be possible to break the siege around the capital. So that it is not constantly visible on the map. That would be a nice option. Se y later

What is supposed to happen at the hermit cave, I've killed everyone and nothing happened, I found the big chest on the roof but it doesn't open is it bugged??
Also why can I not attack slave traders, it just has the leave option when I go to attack them
