Imagine a world where the Allies didn't win the war, nor did the Axis. Instead, the war just continued on and on in an unsteady stalemate. Welcome, to the world of 1949. In this world Germany decided not to bomb London, but instead continued its attacks on Britain's airfields. Then, the Russians lost at Kursk. Finally, D-Day fails. With these victories, Germany has managed to halt the Allie's progress. In the Western Theatre, the Allies and the Axis each plan the invasion of the other's vital territories. In the Pacific, Japan and the United States are dueling over tiny islands with giant fleets and atomic weapons. Now, the stalemate is about to be broken. Germany is preparing an all out invasion of Britain. As tough and valiant as the Allied troops defending the Sceptered Isle are, some of their leaders are beginning to that they will be unable to hold against the Wehrmacht.
Here are some of the units of the new Soviet Faction that will be joining the war. No details here folks, except that one picture depicts Russian conscripts, one shows the IS-3s in formation, another depicts Soviet Shock Troops, and the final unit is an image of a single Soviet Heavy Engineer. The details will be in the next news update, which is exclusively about Russia.

Actually yes it looks like a PPsH-41 with a curved 35 round magazine which in reality were var more common that the drum mags.
Also he has camo due to the fact that he is an elite shock trooper and most likely a predecessor of the now famous spetznaz.
Actually, these cats are the Heavy Engineers, who wear camo because they function as Anti Tank troops and as builders.

Russian camo (not leaves and straw attached to clothes) was extremely rare, and was only used for snipers and scouts.
I'm sorry to say but your looking into this way to much, it don't matter if they have camo now and didn't in te second world war, this mod is based on the war continuing on for atleast another 4 years and probally more ... it's not realistic cause it never hapened ...
