Imagine a world where the Allies didn't win the war, nor did the Axis. Instead, the war just continued on and on in an unsteady stalemate. Welcome, to the world of 1949. In this world Germany decided not to bomb London, but instead continued its attacks on Britain's airfields. Then, the Russians lost at Kursk. Finally, D-Day fails. With these victories, Germany has managed to halt the Allie's progress. In the Western Theatre, the Allies and the Axis each plan the invasion of the other's vital territories. In the Pacific, Japan and the United States are dueling over tiny islands with giant fleets and atomic weapons. Now, the stalemate is about to be broken. Germany is preparing an all out invasion of Britain. As tough and valiant as the Allied troops defending the Sceptered Isle are, some of their leaders are beginning to that they will be unable to hold against the Wehrmacht.
Each "Division" (i.e. Doctrine) available to the Werhmacht has its own Honor Guard unit. This unit belongs to the Hermann Goering Division, and can only be deployed in very limited numbers. One of its members carries a sniper rifle, making the unit extremely deadly, even if each squad only consists of five men.
Most of the unit, except for its skin, weapons, and stats, should be credited to Derwin_23, who I would like to thank at this time.
Seems kind of stupid, who would wear white colour in summer, it's like shoot me I'm right here, shining in your face. Could use made up digital camo or something (lets say the krauts invented it in 1949 lolz).
"Honor Guard"?
And yeah, I agree, the white camo is pretty bad.
Boldness and irrational pride are exactly the point. These troops believe they are elite enough to not have to worry about being shot at. They are, in fact, under the impression that American troops are extremely awful. The Division troops of the SS and Ostheer are more sensible.
These men hold the title Honor Guard because they are the best the Division has to offer. The most difficult attacks and the protection of vital figureheads are the roles they are meant to fulfill.
Guess you're right but imho snow white camo wont help them in any situation, atleast add some dirt then.
camo your troops was ever a Keyelement in german Army ,to give up this advantage makes no sense. one exception: Suicide.thats military nonsense to give them White uniforms in summer . I think they can wear such uniforms on Parade.and boltness and irrational pride will never takes the upperhand over the Germans Prussian militarism and military professionality. I.E. The Waffen SS wich were full off irrational Pride were the first german branch that developed Camo uniforms ,befor the War ,and let them Pattented(the pattern) because they dont like that Wehrmacht used them. You nowing not much about german military mentality. Made them a little more like ivory then its ok because germans wearig sometimes "Drillich" uniforms that are in so called "Altweiss"
Actually, I know quite a bit about what the German military. I am, in fact, a history major. However, I also wanted to create a distinctive unit. This unit, as well as the HG Grenadiers, are very distinctive, no?
Question: Why give him negative karma for telling the truth?

Will be the E-100 in the Game ?
I'll certainly try and get it in. However, that sort of weapon would belong to the Panzer Elite.
Sorry, white camo is just plain unimaginable. I can see it in Warhammer, Halo, or some other obnoxious sci-fi, but not in WWII or any realistic situation, for that matter. It's your mod, but if you are going for believability, don't look for it with this.
I agree with the other guys, white camo doesn't just cut it. Everyone knows German tactics involve deceit and surprise, that's why they utilize CAMo in most military equipment they use....
These men are not cunning strategists, but rabid foaming-at-the-mouth fanatics. The regular Fallschirmjagers of the HG Division do use camo. The SS Waffen's basic troops do as well.
However, these men are utterly convinced that they are invincible. Mind you, they aren't the best troops you can get. I'm actually figuring on making them easier to kill than the troops of other German Divisions. They focus on attack and rapid assault. Furthermore, they are forced into emulating the clothing of the man who gave his name to their Division. I might give a few members camo pullovers that they have paid dearly to get.
I personally like it, it irradiates a sense of awe.
perhaps to make them easier to kill increase the received_accuracy
let me citate you.
"These men hold the title Honor Guard because they are the best the Division has to offer. "
and then:
". Mind you, they aren't the best troops you can get. "
please make up your mind about these troopers will you?
First, you have misquoted me, perhaps due to confusion. The Honor Guard are the best in their Division (a.k.a. Doctrine). They are not the best troops available to Wehrmacht from any Division. Also, the title Honor Guard will be changed to Reich's Guard.
Let me just give you a basic run down of the Wehrmacht Divisions to clear up any confusion.
SS-heavy offense
Ostheer-defense
Hermann Goering-flexible
In other words, Hermann Goering troops are fast and good against single targets, but they die more easily than troops of the other divisions. They have options like ME-262 air strikes that add to their ability to move fast and bypass defenses. The SS, on the other hand, is more geared toward actually attacking and destroying defenses, not running around them.
Actually, the german army used white camo in the summer, but that was for the troops in greece(because of all the white rocks)
