Great question. Yes, at this point I'm only changing the dialog. It's been a crazy experiment to see how much the dialog can influence the feeling of the game, even if the game play stays exactly the same.
It has been pretty amazing how different the exact same scenes can feel when the reason for the event happening is totally different.
All of them. 3 episodes, each 5 levels long.
Ported easily? No. On a very fundamental level, the PC (Steam) and PS (what this mods) are very very different. However, a completely separate mod could be made for the Steam version if Yojimbo were willing to offer up a list of all the changes he's made.
Right now it's only the first disc. It's well worth the download and patch though.
A Doom E1M1 remake'll be out in a week.

Honestly? It's because I wouldn't play it. I feel terrible about it too. You see, I love your game thus far. I love the aesthetics, I love the fact that the gameplay looks real solid. But tower defense games put me into a panic... weird I know. I like the IDEA of tower defense games, but I just don't like playing them.
However, I may still pay for it just because the game looks great.
C-Doom 3 is so good. As is Hexen. Haven't played the rest. Good call for choices!

Yeah, I need to get out of there now, and I'm stuck with very little health and no items. Looks like I need to rethink my strategy and start over.
Just got my emulator all set up and stuff. I actually DIED during the first boss fight. No bugs thus far, and I've liked the in battle dialog. Getting used to the amount of strategy necessary to stay alive, but am enjoying it a lot thus far.
FF7 is my all time favorite game, but I haven't touched it in years. I'm excited to have something new to relive the goodness. Thanks a bunch Yojimbo!

Sure am. The beauty of starting VioFlem before the game's even out is that the ideas are inherently going to be theoretical. That's not necessarily a bad thing, since it seems to me that most people start modding huge projects without the initial planning. If enough planning and prototyping is done before the engine even comes out, then the game is made in its entirety on paper, and if the prototyping was done correctly, then that paper is more than just a bunch of fancy ideas. Our planning at this point hasn't been engine specific, which makes sense... I really don't know any more about RAGE than anyone else does.
Because the planning has been focused on the gameplay, storyline, visual style, audio style, etc. instead of creating engine specific media, there's a lot more flexibility than you'd think. We're working toward RAGE because I know how the id tech engines have worked in the past. I also really want to mess with the tools. They look great.
If push comes to shove though, we're not locked down and have the flexibility to move to a different engine if need be. It's still too early to tell.

Wow... I'm not much of a fragger, but I'm thoroughly impressed by this mod. It's refreshing to see such a uniquely changed mod on the tech 4 engine. Not many people get past the planning stage. I'm at your feet in awe my friends.
