Is this a whole new install process, because I used this mod before and there were instructions to install a large address aware exe patch as well as config file changes to Mass effect before this modpack would work properly. Are these steps no longer necessary or just missing from the information here?
Nevermind, I see in the Nexus write up that it is designed to work with MEUITM. Thanks for your work!
Is this better than MEUITM for the first Mass Effect or should I stick with that until I move on from the first game?
** I already solved this issue so for anyone else having problems it seems to be an common issue of remembering to set OpenTexmod to run as an administrator. Once I did this now everything works fine.**
I follow your instructions to "launch OpenTexmod, then open game exe and choose my package". Well I'm assuming by "open game exe you actually meant to just add the exe under the Main menu options in OpenTexmod? I go there, select the DX9 exe, start the game as instructed then I click "open texture/package" to add your texture pack but clicking this button does absolutely nothing.
Not sure why your instructions don't work, are they incorrect and need updating or am I not following correctly? Seems like pretty simple instructions to follow yet they aren't working to set this mod up.
Would be nice if someone could do one of these for non steam versions as I have the same problem. Instructions are either unclear or incorrect, because they seem quite simple to follow yet don't work to get this mod working.
Are there any install instructions? I just did the usual extract to your install directory and overwrite when prompted but it didn't do anything but mess up my skyrim install.
Can't you play these mods on Origin where the game is free? Well BF1942 at least, but yeah EA shutting down gamespy was such a **** move...
Strangely the issue seems to have fixed itself. I had previously tried a few of the usual troubleshooting checks, reboot, scale down AA etc.. but the problem persisted. Then the other day I figured I'd give it another go and now for some unknown reason the game runs pretty much fine. I get the odd stutter or frameskip here and there and sometimes the dialog cuts itself a little short, but it's rare enough that it's not a huge bother or anything game breaking. Thanks for the reply and
great work on the mod btw, the difference in the level of detail is a big step up!! Glad to be playing now.
I've done everything as instructed and once meuitm is installed and I start the game after the opening cinematic, as soon as I am walking around on the Normandy, it runs really slow and choppy to the point making it unplayable. My pc specs should be far above what is necessary to run this:
Intel i5 4core
AsusTek SabreTooth Z97 Mark2
24 G RAM
Nvidia GeForce GTX 660
Windows 8.1
I made the executable Large Address Aware etc...
I don't see anyone else reporting the same issues so I don't know what the problem might be or how to fix it??
Can you only run this with Half Life 2 and SDK Source install on Steam? Because all the instructions seem to refer to a steam install? I have the game but not through steam.
