Seriously, I ran BF3 without any problems, I ran BF4 with lags, but still working. But whenever I try to launch this game just goes down with "Ran out of video memory". Someone really sucks at optimization. I hate when games that could be played on Windows XP from the graphic point require a shitload of video memory and 64-bit system. It's the same as buying PS4 to only play Japanese visual novels.

RE: Su24 is not that much known. I even thought it wasn't exported, because it wasn't exported to us, neither to Poland or East Germany. But there are more planes less known, like Su17/22, MiG23/27, or MiG19 and these were exported a lot.

Well, Su-17/22 are pretty much included in most of the mods because USSR was supplying some Eastern European countries with it, but mainly Middle Eastern and African countries, especially Egypt. MiG-19 is pretty well known because of it's predecessor MiG-15 that saw action in Vietnam. MiG 23/27 and Su-24 along with MiG-31/35 models were an experimental attempts at making a hypersonic hit & run bombers/SR-71 intreceptors respectively so it's understandable that almost no countries but USSR used it at the early stage and later. Even today US is pretty sceptical about selling A-10.

I don't think I saw Su-17/22 anywhere. Who cares about lighter bombers (well, it's multipurpose), when there are Tupolevs? MiG-25/31 is known and favorite for modders. They make fun about A-10 being built around the gun. You can say about MiG-25/31 that it's the first stage of those AA sniper missiles.

No wonder they won't sell A-10. Even after decades, it is still rivaled only by Su-25 modifications. But the gun would loose some of it's potential without those depleted uranium penetrators.

Su-17/22m were widely used by Egypt airforce during cold war, when there were tensions between Egypt and Israel. Also I saw some used by Serbia and Croatia. Tupolevs are either nuclear bombers, either heavy hit & run expensive bombers, but you still need some less attention seeking planes. Tupolevs would be used for a certain big targets like fleets or bases, while Su-24 would take care of smaller targets. Some time after they also got an ability to carry nuclear arsenal, what made them a tool of threatening. The first time it was used to threat someone was during Israel's conflict with Egypt, when USSR used Su-24 with mini-nuclear bombs for cruising over Tel Aviv to make Israel think twice of their decision to attack Egypt. The last time it was used to threat someone was during current Ukrainian conflicts, where it was doing an attack simulating maneuvers over Donald Cook frigate.

Well, they both serve as a barrage bombing crafts, but I would say that A-10's armor is way more tough than Su-25's. They are getting outdated and need a replacement. I think PAK DA is going to take Su-24's, Tu-160's and Tu-22's roles, and possibly Su-25's.

Eastern europe also had Su22s, and MiG23/27s. Both have variety of armament, for Su22 even a small nuke is available. Also bombs, ATGMs, Anti-radar missiles + IR AA for defense. In real life you need them, but have you seen them in mods?

PAK DA looks pretty big, it surely doesn't fit the role of direct ground support. But this modernization look interesting En.wikipedia.org

Well, Generals is a "pop-strategy", how we call it here, as all the other C&C games. Simple "build units and fight" gameplay with purely virtual unrealistic balance for better gameplay experience. If you add radar stations, AA systems, vehicle modifications, giant maps, realistic firing range, fuel, ammo and other things it won't be a "pop-strategy" anymore, it will be a Wargame, and SAGE engine doesn't fit for such a genre.

Maybe a test prototype. Possibly there is going to be something else to replace Su-25s. Currently there are PAK DA, PAK FA and PAK TA prototypes in development. There is also a Yu-71 protype, but it currently doesn't have an active American counterpart in development, the only counterpart for it right now is Chinese Wu-14. There are American HTV series, but it looks like they are currently frozen.

I didn't like damage system of CoH1, fortunately there are BK and EaW mods. I played MoW few times, even Assault Squad, but it didn't caught me as much as Wargame.

I played lots of Generals mods before. Now sometimes Insurgency or Cука2, when there are friends online.

I really like Men of War because it makes you understand the importance of certain units. Like, while in Generals you can play without infantry at all, in Men of War you will be like WE GOT A TANK, HALLELUJAH! And the tank feels like a tank. Not like a random unit, but a heavy tracked monster. I also liked Cold War mod.

Also did. Was playing Shockwave and RoTR the most, but droped them. The first one because got tired of vanilla factions and the second one because a lot of retarded things in Russia's faction, which I didn't like at all, as a Russian.
I also have Insurgency.

Yeah, two friends asked me to join them on MoW. I got a tank, the one against me pulled a Tiger and my tank was finished :) Note that it was a GSM mod. But that's my issue about MoW, instead of controlling armies, there is one, two tanks and maybe a bunch of infantry to control.

You actually feel like an army on certain maps, like Kursk or Ardennes. I remember when I and my friend were doing a Kursk simulation. I started with T-26s and ended up with 12 KV-1s. But most if the time, yesh, you are a small group. But artillery here is really god of war. One mortar can change everything.

No, I'm completely okay with evil commie role, I'm even proud that we could send the entire world to hell. The other thing is that I'm studying for Russian Military Aircraft Construction university hence my future life will be assigned with Russian Military. There are certain things in the mod that make me vomit with blood from TECHNICAL point of view. Not political or personal. Same for all Tom Clancy's game series.

Yeah, arty, the plague of Wargame. I think I have never played any Tom Clancy game, but maybe I have read something a long time ago. Well, it's sci-fi. I also prefer something based on real assumptions, but usually it's ok for me if it isn't just magic.

Isn't being from Kazachstan an issue? I mean, even if you are ethnic Russian, such work for government surely draws attention of security agencies. How old are you?

I can tell you some absurd aspects of Tom Ckancy's universe if you want. It's a big list.

Kazakhstan is a kind of "workers supplier" for Russia. The university representatives come here every year in 5 big cities of Kazakhstan and take exams in April. If you success you can pre-apply for studying here, so when you finish the school you could go right in the university. During the studying you must get the Russian citizenship and it's much easier if you are ethnic Russian, because at the last years of studying you will practice in the local Sukhoi and Tupolev factories. If you do well you can keep working there after you finish the university. Everyone can work at civil aircraft construction bureaus, but you must be Russian or Ukrainian to work at the military bureaus.I also had a talk with Uralvagonzavod representatives and they said that Russian military engineering sphere welcomes every citizen of Ex-USSR countries except Baltic states.

Sure, tell me. This is similar thing: I think I never saw an air combat with missiles done well in a movie. There are always missiles chasing the hero's plane like dogs, repeating his maneuvers and closing slowly. The only way to get rid of them is of course to fly into Grand Canyon and make a sharp turn..
