So I've been playing with STCOP, and I like it - except that the weapons seem very overpowered. A single AK round in the torso can take down a bandit on Master difficulty. I don't think that's very realistic, and takes away from firefights. Similarly, mutants die much easier. Should I lower the difficulty to make the weapons less powerful? Would that also unfortunately decrease the bullet hit probability?

Thanks for this great mod, but I think the weapon damage tweak may have taken things a little bit too far. Bandits can be dropped by a single 7.62 round to the torso - I'd say this stretches realism a bit and also takes away from a lot of the fun and challenge in firefights (especially those of us who like to play on master difficulty to maximize weapon accuracy). Also, mutants are so much easier to take down due to the high weapon damage. Maybe tone down damage to make things more fun?

For those of you wanting LESS AWARE ZOMBIES:

Go to gamedata/configs/creatures/m_stalker_zombied

Here, what you want to do is tweak the lines under [stalker_zombied_vision_free] and [stalker_zombied_vision_danger]

min_view_distance and max_view_distance should be lowered if you want to lower how far the zombies can detect you. visibility_threshold needs to be upped if you want it to be harder for zombies to spot you.

If you scroll down further, you'll hit the VISIBILITY section. Here, you can tweak how far zombies can see and their effective FOV.

I've yet to experiment so I can't give you guys any proper values. However, play around with it and see what values work, and post your results.

Maybe somebody who knows how to mod can turn down zombie awareness? It's not so much that zombies take too much damage, it's that zombies should not be that aware of their surroundings.

Does anybody know how to edit zombies so that they'll die in fewer shots or have reduced vision/senses? I'm going for a more realistic gameplay, and I feel like super zombies or ones that can see more than a few feet around them do not fit accurately with STALKER lore. Plus, the fog gets so bad at times I have a hard time sniping them from afar.

The ironsights are not "fixed" in any of the official patches (even for widescreen), as all of their aim is slightly off (they look accurate, but if you actually mark the center of the screen with a piece of paper, you'll see that the ironsights are off).

If you go to the forums link above, you'll see a thread for misaligned ironsights. There, you can find the correct values for the Mosin, the Stechkin, SKS, and Gsh. Hopefully these proper values will be incorporated into the next mod. I don't think the FAMAS has actually been correctly fixed yet.

Also, these values only work in widescreen.

Checked again. The center of the screen (where the dot is) is actually where the ironsights need to be lined up for them to be accurate. The Mosin sights, however, do not line up at that dot. Hence, they look aligned, but in actuality, are not.

I hope more guns are added in this game. Millenia did such a fantastic job with the guns last time, it'd be nice if we got more additions, even if the textures aren't as perfect as the ones that already exist. I'm thinking more WW2 era weaponry, more sidearms (revolvers? Automatic pistols?), and more varied sniper rifles

Thanks for the update, but are the Mosin Sights still messed up? They look like they're aiming straight, but if you actually turn on crosshairs you'll see that the sights do not actually center on the screen. Hence, long ranged shots will miss. I'm playing 1366x768 (16:9), and none of the FoVs worked before this patch. Wondering if you actually made any changes regarding that aspect?

The Mosin Nagant sights are still off (playing at 1366x768, tried all possible FoVs)

The Nagant sights look accurate, but if you actually place a piece of tape where the center of the crosshair is, the sights do not line up at all. How this issue was supposedly "solved" for widescreen resolution, I have no idea.

I also have the same problem. Do you think it is because you selected the wrong FoV? Have you tried changing the Fov? Are you using a 4:3 monitor or 16:9 (apparently the Mosin Nagant is fixed for 16:9 monitors)?

Does anyone know what FoV I should be using with a 1366x768 resolution? I tried 83, but that is throwing my Mosin's sights off. Would increasing the FoV to 85 alleviate this problem?

So I got the newest patch released on Monday night... my Mosin Nagant still has misaligned sights. This is becoming really frustrating, as it's now been two patches and we've yet to see the correction of a problem that has existed since release. Also, the stamina still seems to be off in the "newest" patch, I'm still able to sprint forever.

Am I the only one that still has misaligned Mosin Nagant sights? I'm playing with 83 FoV, and I have a 1366x768 monitor. The sights appear to be aimed a little too high and to the left, so none of my shots are landing.

Also, does anybody else have unlimited stamina with the new patch, and near immunity to the anomalies?
