Only first started modding this year back in January 07 after coming from console gaming (xbox 360, still have it and play it every now and then). I started modding on Star Trek Legacy and will be modding other games in the future. I the original creator of many of the new game modes to come to Legacy, and I also the owner of The Aftermath mods for the game too. When I start on other mod projects for other games, they may run under The Aftermath name too.

And no on this one. There are no more Star Trek based releases for Legacy from Aftermath. All the Star Trek content that was worked on during the last 12months will be released in Aftermath 2.5

There are Terran ships in Aftermath 2.0. Wait until Aftermath 2.5 is released for the other Terran ships that were shown throughout the Battalia Requiem dev cycle. Aftermath 2.5 is due around mid to late February

The next main release would most likely be Aftermath 2.5 which will be put out around late February or maybe earlier. That will be your normal Aftermath 2.0 with all its add-ons plus all the rejected Battalia Requiem content bundled in with it.

As for Battalia Requiem, your looking at late 2011/early 2012 for that one.

Complete rework of Legacy's graphics engine to get what you see in the current lot of video's and screenshots. None of the shots are touched up in anyway except for when they get the promo frame put on them

More problems with the new promo announcement and its the same problems as the one for Aftermath 2.0; export problems. Flash will not export the video properly in avi format.

But there will be a new download added in the next few days

I can make a map like that but wont release it in Battalia Requiem. There are going to be several maps released this year, ones that dont fit in with the release. One map that will be released soon is Nepera Dissi. This map was the last map made for Aftermath 2.0 but was never released. It was to be in Battalia Requiem but it just dont fit in with all the other systems.

Promo for the Battalia Requiem announcement has been selected, it has a mix of shots already shown plus some new ones never seen before. Video treatment is coming together, so far the first two segment treatments are done. All that is left is to select video footage for the promo then release it all this weekend

Yes, the new release will be balanced according to gameplay values. Also take into consideration difficulty settings, with Legacy the difficulty settings have damage multipliers applied to them which in reality falsifies its difficulty settings.

The balance is part of a much larger process involving AI, difficulty settings and the actual ships themselves. Battalia Requiem will be alot tougher in terms of gameplay. That is the main focus: gameplay.

The Battalia Requiem text may never be seen in promo. At this stage its in-game only text but it will be the same size as the Aftermath text. I looking at a new way of presenting future promo shots for the release. That will be trialed during the week of which way will work best

The write up is now finished for the official announcement of the new release. All that is left to do now is put together the main promo video for it and maybe 2-3 other videos to go with it. All new promo shots will be taken throughout the week and start using the new logo in them.

Starting work on a new write up for Battalia Requiem. Also want to see if I can build something up so there is something else also in the promo piece for it. New video footage is being taken, 2 new systems are being built and might show off one of the new ships

This one is only one of about 8 or 9 concepts for new logo/text that are currently on the table. This one though is the one I like the least as it doesnt fit anywhere. The colour treatments werent working, none of the game concepts or interface concepts could be applied to it so I put it out there to see how it would go.

Every couple days I will put up more concepts

At this stage, yes. There are a few ships that have been waiting to go into a release. I looking at adding only a small amount of ships, Aftermath has never been a 'ships r us' type mod. Aftermath has always been gameplay first. Ships to me is just filler content to bulk up a release.

Laptop is officially stuffed. So will be coming up with a new write up for Battalia Requiem and have it out in around 2weeks time

You will need another install of Legacy, installing mods on top of other mods leads to problems. Just copy your Legacy install or do a re-install

Do you have Vista/Windows 7 (user account settings can effect all Legacy mod installs)? You also may need to install the mod into its own folder then manually install everything.

About a year off. Still lots of work to be done. Towards end of winter I start large scale beta testing of full content but at the moment the engine is being tested on its own both in the dev build for Battalia Requiem, older Aftermath releases and stock installs to see how much I can get out of the custom built engine.

There are only 5 playable factions in Aftermath; Vulcans being the only new faction. When you go to select a faction, do you use mouse or 360 controller? Using the controller can have issues at times (one being not able to properly select a race) or did you click outside the drop down box?

If none of that, does the faction select return to Federation for you?

Development has resumed for Aftermath. I took some time off for personal reasons but things look to have settled down and now back into working on the next release. Still the official announcement for Battalia Requiem is 'stuck' due to all of that being on the laptop which fried its motherboard... Once new part arrives then everything good to go

The new release (Battalia Requiem) wont be out till back end 2010 but I hope to have a full working beta ready around Easter. Currently in testing stages is the proto AM game engine in non-Aftermath installs (stock, and modded) to see what it does in regards to other installs of Legacy. The more machines I can test the proto build out on the bigger the benefits I can milk out of it.

But AM: Battalia Requiem will be a very different version of Legacy...

There may be a non-Aftermath release by myself this year, a currently untitled project ;)

There is a movie pack being made for the BC version of Aftermath which has those ships in it but no one around to bring them across into the Legacy version. There are ships locked in for the 2010 release so you will have to wait and see...
