I guess it's time for a new bio since I've had the other one for eons. Head dev of Insolence, I have some very limited experience with coding, yadda yadda yadda.

Well yeah, it's a mess when you are moving and it doesn't look too good on some textures (rocks mostly), but other times it's great for screenshots. Just saying.

If you are interested, there are some more possible inputs, like changing sun's color (although I forgot which one changes it…), or if you add a 'name' keyword in light_environment's options and set a name for it, you can control its brightness through ent_fire *name* setpattern <a-z>. And just as an example, that was done with console commands only :D

Some other fun with skybox and stuff.

I'd say that is really a great thing.

That was all the part of a screenshot competitions on our little foru, with categories ranging from just an aesthetic quality to the… need of saying which commands were used when making a screenshot. The latter was the part of a quiz.

Idea shamelessly stolen from cvoxulary. Anyway, he's right. It's pretty nice changing the look of retail maps. mat_mipmaptextures turned the textures into a static-looking mess so I decided not to use it. I think I might do this more often just for the heck of it.
