Admiral Haast was a former Republic Captain, who fought for the Old Republic in the Sith-Old Republic conflict. The Old Republic however, was plagued with corruption and War, and he fell under the influence of the Dark Side and became corrupted with visions of Power and Greed.
He deserted, along with his ship, the Silent Night, and joined the Sith Empire. He served the Sith for many years, killing many of their enemie and rising in the ranks. He eventually became Admiral and commander of the Sith Fleet "Dark Whispers", and yet again proved his worth.
When the Sith were beaten, he was one of the few Admirals to leave the Galaxy with Lord Kairn, the others establishing many smaller Empires that got destroyed by the GA. He proved his worth in the Unknown Regions and earned his place as Lord Kairns right hand man. He became High Admiral of the Sith Military, and followed Lord Kairn wherever he went. He worked closly with Captain Taria, and they both ensured Lord Kairns protection.
When Kairn left the Sith and joined the Galactic Alliance, Haast followed without hesitation. He knew that Lord Kairn was a military genius, and that both of them combined as one could lay waste to most fleets. He commands the Beskar Marev and the GA TF3, replacing the former Republic Admiral.

Still pretty awesome though. Must be one of the best to command the Marev...
