For a mod that deals with the spirit world there is surprisingly very little involvement with spirits. Much of the Middle-Earth lore is heavily tied with spirituality, literal demi-gods exists, and yet the temples are not even developed. It's quite obvious that the Elves and the Gondorians worshiped Eru Iluvatar, for instance, in temples, as the Numenoreans did, and the Elves did so in halls, Galadriel references heavily references the Elves serving the Valar in the heavenly halls of Ilmarin in Taniquetil.

Tolkien himself was a religious and devout person, much of his personal letters dealt with religious matters, particularly his dialogue with C.S. Lewis. Tolkien's world is substantive precisely because it reinforces the perception of good and evil.

What's wrong with having daughters? I haven't had a female ruler yet, but I always train my daughters to be master diplomats or master stewards. Female rulers are fine.

How do you deal with Rohan? I'm playing Gondor and my troops get wrecked by peasants. Those peasants must be on steroids.

I fixed the missing text error. My computer security software was blocking Edain Mod from functioning properly, so I re-installed it with the security off and now the English texts work.

For version 4.0. Galadriel's ranged attack can be waves of light and her Nenya ultimate power can be a massive AOE light flash damage with a knockback effect like that in the movie.

As for the film, Sauron wasn't in his full power yet, Galadriel would've been able to defeat him and make him flee to save Gandalf. Sauron was previously defeated by Luthien (with the help of Huan) and Sauron fled in shame. Its possible that Galadriel can do the same with the help of Saruman and or Radagast.

Any news on Lothlorien?

For Lothlorien, Galadriel should have a more vital, useful and important role in the faction. At the moment, Galadriel is neither needed nor useful, making her one of the least desired heroes in the game. Give players an incentive to use Galadriel.

Make Galadriel accessible early-game. It doesn't make sense that Mordor can get Sauron early game, while for Lothlorien you have save up a lot of resources just to buy Galadriel. Lothlorien cannot exist without Galadriel. Lothlorien's strength lies in Galadriel. That is how it should work but in-game Galadriel is irrelevant.

I've always loved the Elven factions. The grace of the Elves can be hauntingly beautiful and frightening at the same time. Their beautiful enchantments and songs can nurture life or bring complete destruction. Extreme light and beauty can be just as destructive as extreme darkness and chaos.

Before Lake-town there was an older, larger city made of stone called Esgaroth. By the time the people of Dale settled Lake-town, Esgaroth was in ruins. Lake-town was built on top of the ruins of Esgaroth.

That's problematic. I'm trying to emphasis the importance of the city of Dale, over Lake-town.

The addition of Lake-town totally ruins the chronological order of the Edain Mod. Lake-town was unimportant during the War of the Ring.

After Smaug was defeated, Bard and his people re-established the Kingdom of Dale with the city of Dale as the capital, and it was besieged by the Easterlings during the War of the Ring (it was called the Battle of Dale). Bard and his men defeated the Easterlings after the death of Sauron. Dale has more importance than Lake-town, it makes no logical sense to add Lake-town during the War of the Ring.

The city of Dale (not Lake-town, but the stone city near Lonely Mountain) was re-built during the War of the Ring. Lake-town was a temporary settlement when Smaug destroyed Dale. After Smaug was defeated, the city of Dale was re-built and Lake-town became part of the Kingdom of Dale. It makes more sense to add Dale (the capital of the Kingdom of Dale), instead of Lake-town (which is more of a port).

I have a suggestion. Bard could go on a mission when he is level 10 where he has to defeat Smaug. If Bard defeats Smaug, Bard can re-establish the Kingdom of Dale and Lake-town can get an upgrade to become the city of Dale.

I love Tolkien's legendarium. But, as an Asian person I can't help but wonder if there are Asian Elves. I mean honestly a lot of the Elven philosophy is so similar to Asian culture in general. :(

I love the Elves <3 :).

Melian was not useless, she kept Doriath safe for hundreds of years with her own magic.

Thingol brought upon the destruction of Doriath on himself, Melian advised him not to meddle with the affairs of the Silmarils but he would not listen. The doom was greater than Melian's magic, even if she stayed she would not be able to stop it.

@Badger-Brock Sauron got defeated by elf-maiden Luthien, destroyed his fortress and sent him running "shamed and defeated" (from Tolkien's own words) in the Second Age, he isn't that powerful. Sauron is just lucky that by the Third Age most of the High Elves have already left Middle-Earth.

I made a mistake for Celeborn, he came from Doriath like Galadriel.

You could say the same for Gondor. Gondor wasn't only Minas Tirith, it consisted of a bunch of smaller fiedoms made up of towns that had no walls so they shouldn't get any walls, right?! Imladris didn't have any walls either, it was an encampment situated in the Misty Mountains, but their fortress has walls, why?

The reasoning for Lothlorien not getting any walls is beyond ridiculous. Lady Galadriel (a Noldorin princess) would want her fortresses to be fortified with walls. Celeborn, the Lord of Lorien, came from Gondolin, a walled city, it would make no sense why he wouldn't fortify his fortresses in Lothlorien with walls.

Buildings in the Lothlorien fortress should be mallorn trees with flets on them, with a river flowing out of the fortress, containing flowers and gardens. The fortress should be surrounded by a green wall. In the middle of the fortress would be a fountain with a flet for the Lady and the Lord.

Lothlorien structures are not weak, in the first place. The forest was damaged during the War of the Ring but their fortifications were not. The Ring of Nenya keeps the Golden Forest rejuvenated and healed, Lothlorien was well-guarded and it can only be destroyed if Sauron himself attacked it.

For the Lothlorien faction, can they please have a walled fortress? It is unfair that Lothlorien do not have walls while the other factions do.

Caras Galadhon was one big walled-city with a moat, check out this blueprint from the the Atlas of Middle Earth.

I agree, Galadriel is not really a strong hero (for some odd reason), considering she's supposed to be the 3rd greatest Elf of all time (first is Luthien, second is Feanor, and third is Galadriel).

I'm not a good strategist but here is what I know about the Singer unit.

The Singer unit of Lothlorien, from the Sanctuary, has 3 skills. Other than these 3 skills, they are primarily support-defensive units, they are also unable to attack.

The first skill is "Song of Healing," which heals nearby allies.

The second skill is "Song of Lamentation" which "weakens" nearby enemies (de-buffs, I'm guessing reduces enemy armour and attack, but I know for sure it slows movement speed).

The third skill is called "Hymn of Galadriel," which provides buffs to nearby allies (not sure about the benefits, but I'm going to guess armour and attack).

With all of these skills, in addition, the healers can sing in groups of 2 or more. The more singers, the more effective the skills. Furthermore, they are also colour coordinated, so you can have 2 Singers in white singing "Song of Healing" while 2 Singers in blue singing "Song of Lamentation," this allows variety.

I think the Singer unit is a unique unit which can be effective in battles, place them behind the warriors and unleash their singing to buff the allies or de-buff the enemies. "Hymn of Galadriel" could be a good skill to use to buff allies nearby in longer battles.

*Important side-note: Singers are not effective in short battles (or raids) because when they sing they are unable to move, so you have to be careful when to use their skills and where to position them. Its better to use them for prolonged battles, and preferable in a safe position, such as behind archers or siege units.

I think that mainly Singers are good defensive units, they can heal allies in the base with "Song of Healing," they can help defend with "Song of Lamentation" (de-buff the enemy) or with "Hymn of Galadriel" (buff allies).

You're incorrect. In all aspects, Galadriel would be stronger than Elrond. In fighting, wisdom and magic. Galadriel is described as being physically and mentally strong in the Silmarillion, her birth name (I forget) originally meant something like "mannish woman" because she was stronger than the male elves.

Galadriel is described by Tolkien as the second strongest Elf of all time, behind only Feanor (the one who created the Silmaril jewels, stolen by Morgoth, Sauron's master, leading to the War of the Wrath and the destruction of Beleriand). Galadriel was born in Aman (the Blessed Realm, Valinor, land of the Valar), she has the blood of all the branches of High Elves (Vanyar, Noldor and Teleri), she was taught by the Valar and the Maiar themselves in Valinor, and she was bathed in the light of the Two Trees of Valinor before the Sun and the Moon was created. Galadriel is on par with Gandalf in terms of power (in his human form). Gandalf and Galadriel have a balanced relationship, they're both just as wise and just as powerful. Again, this is only when Gandalf is in Middle-Earth, in human form, in Maiar form Galadriel would literally be utterly wasted against Maia-form Gandalf.

Sauron himself saw Galadriel as his biggest threat, because she is able to "lay bear" the soul of anyone, meaning she is able to see their thoughts and true nature. Sauron cannot even penetrate Galadriel's mind, but Galadriel can penetrate Sauron's mind. Galadriel may not be a Maiar, but she is a strong Elf.

Elrond is also powerful but not a match for Galadriel. Elrond has the blood of Man, Maiar and Elf, but he hasn't stepped foot on Valinor (the land of the Valar, being blessed by their light), which automatically makes him weak compared to Galadriel. Being bathed by the grace in Valinor is a big deal, your body and spirit is literally made holy, purified. Galadriel is on the same level as Gandalf (in his human form).

UGH the 5 minute limit is annoying, I meant the Elves don't disintegrate when they see the Valar and the Maiar in their full power and form.

I suggest reading the Unfinished Tales and The Silmarillion to better understand the roles of the Valar, the Maiar, Elves, Men and Dwarves.

In simple form, the Valar are there to preserve the Earth, the Maiar are there to assist the Valar, the Elves are there to "beautify" and "cultivate" the Earth, the Dwarves are there to craft the resources of the Earth, and the Men are there to give "detail" to the Earth (making a legacy before they die and leave the Earth).

Also the War of the Ring is the battle for the Atani (Men). Men are not under the authority of the Valar, they are directly under Eru Iluvatar (God himself), the Valar are not allowed to directly contact Men. Men have fragile bodies and spirit, direct contact with the Valar or the Maiar in their full power would cause a man's body to disintegrate, the bodies of men are temporal, they are meant to die and go with Eru Iluvatar (God). The bodies and spirits of the Elves are meant to last for eternity, they can see the full power of the Valar and the Maiar with disintegrating, when an Elf dies, they are simply re-incarnated and live with the Valar, destined to live in the world forever.
