It has happened to me as well. Definitely a glitch.
I absolutely love this. ESPECIALLY that extension on the underside of the bow! I don't know why, but that just looks so awesome. I can definitely see the ISD/Allegiance superstructures melding together here. Lovely work. On the fence about that massive hangar, but it's okay because we see the ship from the top 90% of the time.
The Titan has been one of my favorite Star Destroyer designs. I'm eager to see your take on it!
Meanwhile I'll continue sitting here and dreaming about how beautiful a Praetor made by you would be... It'll never happen, but it's nice to think about. c:
A mod that is only playable from one retailer would be quite an evil mod indeed. (:
Yes. You have to watch a tutorial or two, but they're all linked here on the mod page. You will need some patch for FoC and then you install the 4GB patch. Then it will work fine, except for the save crash. But that is happening to almost everyone, I think.
He only mentions the GoG version so much because it already has the FoC patch and is easier to run, if I remember correctly.
Jeroenimo thinks the save-crash might be fixed in the next patch. We'll have to wait for release to find out. My land AI hasn't been affected and I've also done the copy AI folder thing. Maybe yours just derped out. O:
The names of the save are always named like that in the actual saves folder. The in-game names don't carry over.
Perhaps the same missile model and texture are used by all things that fire missiles in the game. If not that, maybe one of your changes accidentally altered something else without you being aware. I'm no modder so I can't give a definite answer. xD
You mean like too demanding on a computer? I understand you, I have a crappy laptop. BUT, Jeroenimo said his new fixes (coming in the new patch when he finishes it) have eased the burden to a fair extent. People like me will still have trouble, but those with mid-range to high-end computers will be fine. It's nice to see a mod that looks and plays as beautifully as this one, without adding a plethora of new units that one may never use.
Is there a tutorial you know of that I can use to understand what I'm modifying in the file? :P I don't want to blow up the page with questions.
I found the file in another mod and opened it to see what I was working with. I see a number, a comma, then another number. For example (taken from that mod's file): Capital = 0,4
After those numbers it has a weird symbol like an equal sign turned 90 degrees. Could you explain what that line means so we can apply it to other lines?
In my experience with this mod, the strangest thing is that the Consortium builds capital ships (and uses them to great effect) while the Rebels spam the smaller ships and fighters/bombers. However the file you said to edit doesn't seem to differentiate between factions. Is there a way to do that?
I couldn't find it. O: The closest thing I have is in a folder called Spacemode and the file is named TacticalMultiplayerBuildSpaceUnitsGeneric.
This same thing happened in another mod, and the Consortium would turn up with 100+ squadrons of Starvipers and sometimes almost 200 of some other fighter. Both in the same fleet!! I'd spend 30 minutes in a battle sometimes just waiting for them to retreat since the Empire didn't have any good fighter-killers.
Fair enough. I am sad to report that I can no longer load the autosave. ): Which is fine anyway because scumbag Rebel AI blew up my Bellator thanks to bomber spam.
Speaking of which, would it be possible for the Rebel AI to use bigger ships more often in GC instead of the incredibly annoying 20+ MC-30cs and 50+ B-Wings every battle...? :P Just wondering... I know ships like the Broadside are good counters but I feel that such a huge excess of small ships might be a glitch in the code. Plus I tried 12 Broadsides and a Star Destroyer in one such battle where the Rebels had smaller numbers and my whole fleet still died.
And to clarify, the Z-layer means how up or down a ship will be relative to another ship in space battles? IE The reason why in vanilla, all capital ships were on the same bottom row, frigates were on their own row, etc?
Also I did the AI folder thing that was suggested and loading a regular save caused a crash, BUT last night I loaded an autosave and it worked! I'll have to see if it works again later, but for now I'm just keeping my game running in the background lol.
He said there's a very small (almost none) chance that he'll rework ground battles. Though I agree, the AI is a challenge! I just wish they didn't fighter-spam lol. Oh well. The missiles have been buffed to deal with them!
Hey Jeroenimo! Finally got around to following the mod once I found the tiny button. They really should make it more noticeable...
Anyways, I can't remember if I read this somewhere here, but did you say the save-crash is fixed for next patch?
I right clicked and went to properties on the save file, and the size says 21.8 MB.
Where do I find them? I have like four other saves and I read somewhere that you can't see their names in the folder, whatever folder it is.
Made it to day 47 before I tried loading. It crashed. ):
Also, where did you get the inspiration for the Purifier's long-range turbolasers? Was it WWII battleship turrets? (:
One more thing... I'm very happy you haven't done anything with ground battles (yet? O: ) even though they're boring. I just hate it when mods add tons of new units so you can't have all factories + barracks on one planet. If you do, you can't see all the units available to build. :/
Hi Jeroenimo!! I can't WAIT for the next update. This mod is so much fun and aesthetically pleasing! Thank you for giving the Imperials beautiful beefy ships. (: They will always be my favorite. Gotta respect the raw power they have.
I'm about to do the fix for the savegame crash. I'll add to the pile of those who will let you know whether it works or not. Unless I get so sucked in playing it that I forget... (:
So in this context, what does commission mean? I've never heard it used in modding before.
Now that I can play the Galactic Conquest (and now that I've used the Annihilator, LOVELY ship btw), I really see how fun this mod is! :D The graphics are stunning and bring that beautiful yet epic Star Wars feel I've always wanted. The potatolasers from the vanilla game just didn't cut it for me.
One question tho. I did some searching on this modpage but I can't find anything confirming or denying you adding the Executor. Do you plan on adding it? It's my favorite ship but if not, I understand. The Annihilator, Bellator, and now Eclipse is plenty of firepower already. xD
Many thanks! :D
Hey there! First I wanna say, great mod!!! I enjoy it a lot.
So, I downloaded the 4GB patch and installed it according to the video. However, when I try to run the game it's like "security module not found, game cannot run" or something. I have the actual Gold Pack CD. Do I still need to get GoG's Gold Pack?
Hey Boris! Not sure if you saw this comment on the 88 post itself but here goes... Sorry if you're reading this a second time. ))):
Anyways, I love the new 88 sound. I have an idea as to how you can differentiate the sounds of the KwK-36 and the KwK-43, as you were considering in that post.
I learned that higher-velocity guns make more of a sharp "crack" noise, even if they are large caliber like a 120mm. The lower-velocity guns give off a bigger "thud." If this is true, you could give the KwK-36 more of a slight "thud" due to its lower velocity than the KwK-43, which you can give a sharper "crack" sound. IF this is possible, I think you could do it. :D
I believe in you and thank you so much for all your hard work. I dunno how you keep doing all this for no reward other than appreciation, but believe me, there is a LOT of appreciation. (:

Hey Cheesecake. I've been here for a while; this is my new profile (I think my old one was AdmiralPhantom7 or something, if you remember). I have a question regarding the Galactic Conquest. Is there only supposed to be one option for the galactic map?
