I'm A long time Fan of Nomadas'' work and many others ShrimmaTheDark UEAW etc...
Nomada, the effects shown off were amazing in that video and I really have to give it to you, now you're officially the best Sins Star wars mod author in my book. Seriously, I can hardly wait to eviserate some rebel scum utilizing the Eclipse's axial superlaser, I really am that excited for the release of this epic achievement in modding history..
Hey Goa, I just had to mention this but have you played Dark Souls 2?
I was playing SOGE last night on a 2 V 2 map and the game lagged so hard my comp nearly blew up. Does the game speed and AI difficulty reduce lag if you turn it down? I'm running an I7 2670qm in my ultra book "sandy bridge" architecture and shouldn't be lagging at all. The end question is why am I lagging? PS: I've checked the SOGE readmes for answers and I'm only running two factions.
@Nomada, Is the Bellator class star dreadnaught going to be included in the first release of your mod (on the empires side of course)?
Ever heard of LAA?
This looks quite exquisite.
I found another great imperial dreadnaught that could act as a cheaper Titan, it's even larger than the Bellator, I just had to link it, the Assertor: Starwars.wikia.com
Note: I still prefer the Bellator though, although I really wish all of these ships could be intergrated into your mod, most other star wars mods for Soase are just ISD I and II spam with a few victorys II's mixed in. I honestly wish you had more game memory to work with.. But such is the way of life, you can't just have everything.
I'm telling you if he sponsored and showcased Star Trek armada three and pretty much every other Soase mod in existence, he'll definitely showcase this badboy seeing that he just now got into Homeworld 2 modding. Did I forget to mention that his entire job is focused around the modding community and showcasing new mods from Modb and the Nexus, he's also an official partner with Modb so if he were to ignore you he's not doing his job correctly he would just be a plain asshat.
Well maybe you're right, it also seems like a random troll is downvoting my comments, well then... Thanks.
If you've got Homeworld 2 download the newly released Star wars warlords .60 mod, best experience I've had in a long time. Long live the Eclipse super star destroyer class-dreadnaught long live the Empire!
Thanks anyway, but I would think a rearmored and rearmed Kandosii could hold its own against an ISD I... Those diamond born missles man dem missles would go straight through an ISDS shields.
Who knows maybe someday a legendary mod author will poke his head around the modding community and start work on the 10,000 or was it 30,000 year old? Hmmm, well anyway a mod focusing on the conflict between the Kwa the native (nearly extinct native dathomir native species, which joined forces with the Jedaii order on Tython, they also constructed the infinity gates which eventually led to the Rakata Kwa war) and the Rakatan empire, you know they built the star forge, and forced the Jawas off there home planet of courlag I think it was to move to Tatooine in preperation for the destruction of Tatooine glassing the beautiful Terran planet into the ugly desert sandlot it is today, they forced the Jawas to be transported to Tatooine due to the fact that the Jawas rebelled against the Rakata and the Rakata wanted the Jawas home planet to themselves (resource extraction).. Another point being, the Kommagah (Sand people) vs the Rakatans vs the Kwa vs rebellious aliens that the Rakatans inslaved like the sand people and the Wookies vs the ancient sith when King Adas the king of the sith on Korriban defended his home planet against the Rakatans he proceeded to wipe out the Rakatan invasion force and stole their ships in the process. Which then eventually led to the colonization of Malacor 5 and the construction of the Trayus academy on Malacor V by the orginal Sith race and King Adas, this would obviously make for an excellent mod. I read many, many, lines on the very beginnings of the Star was galaxy, and if some mod author had more time and information on this Ancient time line this subject would make for quite the esteemed modification. Just sharing my Ideas.
I guess it has been well over 4,000 years since the Taung (orginal Mandalorians) and assorted alien species including Zhell Humans mixed into the Mandalorian culture aswell as intermarriage between Taung and Zhell humans, which eventually led to the rise of the Mandalorians (including there mixed and intermarried society of hybrid peoples of mixed heritage) and fall of there war effort years later at the battle of Malachor V after being defeated by Revan, after that battle and defeat of the Mandalorians and their nation in whole it only makes since that Mandal-hypernautics and any other assorted production facility that produced those old ships would cease production. Although I know for a fact that the Kandosii is still prized amoungst Mandalorian warlords to this day for being of such an elegant design aswell as posessing a grand 4,000 year old legacy/history and it's definitly a pro having such an array of fire power focusing on spread concussion missle fire it has been said that a well armed Kandosii can still 1 V 1 an ISD I in a prolonged fire fight...
For all we know Mandal-Hypernautics still produces the Kandosii to this day, for all the pros I've noted above.
The Kyramud: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Kyramud-type_battleship could act as a mid-late game battleship which the Mandalorians could only get there hands on if there power was to the level of being very severe in the Piracy menu. Point being, in the end most mods handle the Pirates as a very minor threat and we all know the Mandalorians are quite the opposite of an easy to kill experience farm. Many other mods potray pirates as being an easy and quick way to grab ship experience without much hassle, this I mentioned above, so to combat the easy to hold off and destroy nature of pirates in Sins if you supply the Mandalorians with there very powerful lore-friendly late-teir battleships like the Kandoshii, Kyramud, and Keldabe later on that would make them into the serious threat they are portrayed as being in the galaxy if there efforts are combined and if they're well funded their's no stopping them, unless of course you've got an exact copy of the battle of Malachor V waiting for them..
@GoaFan77, I can't wait to see Mandolorian mercenaries raid my homeworld in this fashion http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Kandosii-type_dreadnaught?file=Kandosii-type_dreadnaught.jpg , will it look something like this with Kandoshii at front and various other Mandalorian designs at back like the Jehavey'ir and Keldabe maybe even the mysterious Mandalorian warship included in Geronimos Old rebublic at war mod for FOC which BTW he has fully modled and textured and ready to go? : http://www.moddb.com/mods/old-republic-at-war/videos
That looks incredible, I know I'll have fun purging rebel planets with the Allegiance class. The Bellator still dwarfs the Allegiance being more than twice the battle cruisers size however..
The Bellators just one of those elegant ship designs I always wanted to eat as if it were a cookie.
The trailers great, thanks for taking the time to showcase this beast of a mod. But seriously, if you want this mod to become very popular in a few days I'd link the trailer to Captain Shack over at thexpgamers very soon, seeing that if he's not already planning on spotlighting the mod he will definitly consider (meaning that he will) it if you show him your trailer.. Thanks man :)
@Drewbern/ and any other assorted devs who worked on and brought this mod back to life, you must contact Thexpgamers: Youtube.com This is the absolute best Star wars mod for any game that I've ever seen that supports modding/ and or Star wars related mod projects that have ever been created and/or released. I can guarantee that if you contact Thexpgamers and Captain Shack at the link above that he'll throw a huge mod spotlight in honor of this fantastic modification. Please heed my words and contact this man, he will of course showcase your mod to all of his supporters/and fanbase which they will in turn spread the word of how awesome the space combat and attention to detail that has been put into this mod all over YT's space RTS nerd fanbase.. Thanks again, and the next time I catch Shack in a Twitch livestream I'll be sure to link him to this great mod and it's phenomonal 1080p trailer.
Thanks again man, I've also already played your E4X mod in the past and I've commented on it's mod page before, it's a great mod that adds much needed depth to the gameplay.
@flyawaynow It would literally destroy the Universe..
I have a final question aswell. Will the particle effects and deathclones/explosions/turbolaserfire be very pretty in this mod, will you also intergrate Infinite space in your mod for those so called "DEM GRAPHICS"?
Thanks man, if the Imperium is considered fanon aswell as the Titan and not canon, I still do find them to be very interesting and at the same time terrifying designs. From what I've read about the Imperium it was designed by a special division of Kuat drive yards on Coruscant to be a replacement flagship for the Eclipse, this would've been a replacement for the Eclipse if Palpatine wasn't killed at Endor, after his death the Empire fell into disaray and many Imperial projects were cancelled or abandoned at the time. In the end though, all of the information I've gathered about these ships/superweapons has been gathered from unofficial sources and friends none from wookiepedia however.
BTW: You should try implementing LAA in the mods download so that you'll be allowed to take advantage of the extra memory..
The Imperium class Ultra super star destroyer comparison (prepare to be shocked at its scale) : Static.fjcdn.com
Titan class heavy cruiser: Google.com
Another point being, if you build a giant SSD theirs always the fear of that said ship being destroyed at an early level and rebuilding the damned thing will cost you half of your economy. Instead of investing so many credits into a very large and expensive ship you could purchase a smaller less expensive Titan (The Bellator and Praetor mk 2) without that huge economic loss if it is destroyed trying to rebuild it. BTW: A Bellator even though much less expensive than an Executor and far smaller, it still packs one hell of a punch, a single Bellator could make quick work of three or four MC80's in a prolonged fire fight. PS: The Imperium was apparently the largest ship ever constructed by the Imperials far after the fall of Endor, it was as large as an entire planet, (I'm not sure if it's canon though). The Titan heavy battle cruiser was a succesor to the Allegiance class battle cruiser, it was a much longer and sleeker vessel than the previous models pertaining to the Allegiance and boasted superior fire power and mobility to the Allegiance in every way imaginable, it was a replacement for the Allegiance more or less. Both ships are included in Nomada's Alliance mod although the Imperium was never finalized in the latest version of his mod. Bellator class model and link to concept art: Moddb.com
The Bellator would act as a cheap and early option for the Empire as a flagship (Titan) instead of the Empire blowing all there funds on an Executor and worrying about the thing getting destroyed seeing how expensive a full fledged SSD is they could go down the other route of quantity over quality and purchase a Bellator or maybe something like a Praetor MK 2 to act as an even cheaper option to the Bellator as an early level flagship (Titan). The point being different play styles serve different players, obviously a player or AI who wants to bum-rush an enemy and gain a foot hold over them early on in a match won't have the funds to construct a fleet of Allegiance class, Isd II's, and Procursator's with the limited funds at there disposal, no that type of person or AI would want to mass produce a fleet led by lets say a Praetor a wing of Victoy II's, and maybe some old Ventators thrown in the mix, with some Imperator class ISD I's making the fleet a formidable force early on.. The second point being some players and AI turtle others prefer guerilla tactics early on to mid-game. A fleet composing of the Praetor option or Bellator option with a host of smaller cheaper ships and a few big crusiers like Imperators mixed in would also become the preferable AI or human players RAID fleet. Fleets like these could do some heavy damage behind enemy lines without investing to many credits into lets say a Vengeance class SSD or an Executer class SSD which seem to be fit for heading a very large and expensive fleet instead of a small but damaging raid fleet composed of smaller (easier to manage vessels), fitted for a meager economy, an Executer is to difficult to manage and to expensive for an early game rusher.
Any of these ships I've listed could serve great roles within the Empire the Bellator especially could serve as a medium end Titan..
Here's some great Allegiance class concept art: Starwars.wikia.com
Also here's the Bellator-class dreadnought SSD: Starwars.wikia.com
