This is basically it -- no Linux dedicated server support for ASW SDK.
This is the first I've heard of this. Do you have video/screenshots of this happening? I'm guessing you installed using the full build?
Try using another browser.. it seems that the GameFront link does not work in Chrome (which is out of our control).
Either create a config/autoexec.cfg file and add these to it:
rate "60000"
cl_cmdrate "30"
cl_updaterate "30"
Or enter them into the console window (Options -> Keyboard -> Advanced -> Enable Developer Console and then hit ~).
You can try increasing the rate / cl_cmdrate / cl_updaterate convar values. Something like 60000 / 30 / 30 should prevent lag with low ping rate (but you need to have a decent connection).
Starting with 1.02 it will show the version of the servers in the description. So if the server still shows as "No More Room in Hell" instead of "NMRiH Beta 1.02", they haven't upgraded yet.
Yes, we're currently working on the next patch and hope to have it out soon.
Can you try running the game with -dxlevel 80?
You can download the client build and then the 1.0 - 1.01 patch. There are also links on our forums (www.nomoreroominhell.com/forums) to the full 1.01 build.
Unfortunately all three maps changed for this patch. If you're getting this error it just means the server you're connecting to hasn't updated yet!
Does it work if you run the game with -dxlevel 80 or -dxlevel 81?
If you have not yet installed the game I would recommend waiting for the 1.01 full build (available as a torrent on our website's news post). I think the 1.0 zips ended up having some corruption issues.
Yeah it's intentional; I guess there isn't much reason to have those folders there.
Well that's certainly not good. Was this a living zombie? Which zombie model was it?
It's technically the exact same as the client build. If you already have that, you can use it instead.
Little known fact about how zombies are created: they are launched from a secret zombie-making cannon.
The default time for this waiting period will be increased quite a bit in the upcoming patch.
You shouldn't need any of the other games; as long as you have Source SDK Base 2007 (which is now free!) you'll be fine.
As Maxx said, all of the weapons (melée included) are in the process of being re-animated due to various issues.
The axe has not yet been reanimated, though, and is using the same animations as in the last video. The difference you're probably seeing is 'normal' swing vs. 'charged' swing.
It sounds like you're assuming that players can be zombies. They can't; there is no feeding system.
you're wrong; pipe was clearly taken from my basement
The animations in the video were indeed vanilla zombie animations. That doesn't mean we intend to keep it that way.
Keep in mind this is an ALPHA video. Not a finished product. Not anywhere NEAR a finished product.
