Whats a pity, that years ago there was actually an working version, Without all the Modern Day Remoddeling they did.
There was an working version with just the WW2 assets. which i really enjoyed. and even played on LAN with an friend.

Unfortunately that version got removed from this webpage, and i don't have the original files anymore.

Would it be possible to have all the fixes from 3.0 and 3.1,
but without campaign button in main menu, but instead loading the maps in skirmish mode?

I managed to succesfully play a few missions with Ultimate Apocalypse,
but i only managed to load those missions in skirmish mode, (with version 1, and 2+2.1 patch)
with the newer version (3.0 + 3.1) through campaign button im unable to use the campaign button as UA mod has it disabled.

after 12 years of following this,
i finally found a RTS with zombies, something i always hoped this mod would turn into, its called Cepheus Protocol

Though i still relish my memories i had of this mod in its early stages, when it was just ww2 units vs zombies,
Wish they just kept it simple with this mod, but instead they choose big ambitions of a total overhaul of the game to a modern era,

Looking back on the 12 years i have been visiting this page,i realiize that they leave their community hanging.

I see the modpage of their other mod Fate of Hungary, also still have nothing released. so thats 12 years of nothing to show for.

While im not disputing wether or not the savegame updater works or not,
i did not try.
i just wanted to comment on image icon of the mod.

What do gold coins and a moneybag, have anything to do with savegame updater?

I have never seen such blatant moneygrabbing advertisements here before on moddb.com

If anything i would say its false advertising, as what depicted has nothing to do with the mod.

never understood the internet hype around "f's" i guess its a generational thing,
but yeah, also been waiting a decade here.
Perhaps it would be time for "Early Acces" i know i know a decade ago Early Acces was unthinkable...

I guess we all kinda turned into a "Cult Following" still coming back here a decade later...

i got a feeling both the Legacy version and the New version, are both updated to much.

i got to find out what version company of heroes was on around the time of that demo release. maby then we will be able to get it to work.

I think u guys misunderstand me,
I am not criticizing the mod, I love the Colored Buttons, i use them myself aswell.

You say u were given permission, without crediting the author of the mod?

And yes we all know piracy exists.
People that want to pirate will pirate anyway.

You want to make mods access-able to pirates, thats oke.

But u shouldn't link on where to actually Crack and Download the full version of the game.

after some long searches on the internet, i managed to find 3 links, of 2 versions.
the Christmas Fun beta, wich replaces the HQ to christmas trees, and has some modern versions of survivors/ swat / national guard / sniper / humvee as airdrop.

and an older version ( i think its the halloween but im not sure )

I think the halloween version is the one where u could just play normally with ww2 american armies vs nazi zombies. thats the mod scenario i want to replay.

i have seen youtube videos of what appeared a 4 hero game vs zombies,
i havnt been able to find this version or how to start this in the christmas mod, i think its part of the halloween mod

and:

the Christmas version has an auto installer, but the older version does not, and the "Readme" that comes with it says:

"Because the mod is still in development,
in order to run the mod, you must use the mod studio.
Run modstudio exe, and open Zombie.module.
When it has loaded, click run at the top,
and run in dev mode near the bottom.
Not click on run in CoH/OF. You are all set"

In steam when i try to load this on the Newer CoH version, it starts up plain normal coh tales of valor, nothing changed i think.

if i try it on the legacy version it tells me that "company of heroes could not verify media"

Can someone help start the older version?

in any case have fun with the Xmas version.

just half a year more until the 10 year Anniversary !!!!
i renember playing the Christmas demo back in 2010,
defending against hordes of zombies with ww2 weaponary was really cool.

alot of slow zombies, some fast runners, ( when playing pvp on lan my friends would usally only spawn the fast runners, quickly overwhelming, or simply running around your defences...

There really arnt that many Zombie strategy games. and the Christmas demo really made a big impression on me 8 years ago.

I keep coming back here every half year or so, hoping for a release, or a reupload of the original demo + christmas patch.

I didnt had much to do this morning, so i sorta read through all 33 pages of comments on this mod,

and i noticed that alot of people dont have an permanent solution to setting their FoV to 90, and have to sort to using the developer console to activate their FoV after each mission.

There is in fact an permanent solution, but its a bit tricky. i myself never knew a thing about hex editing until yesterday.

I used the Hex editor called: HxD . and followed the instructions on WideScreen Gaming, All Credits goes to them, not me.

:

FOV HEX edit:

Alied Assault: Go to \main\gamex86.dll
Cutscene FOV: Go to Offset 000A10A0 and change 00 00 A0 42 --> 00 00 B4 42 (16:10) or 00 00 BE 42 (16:9)
Game FOV: Go to Offset 00112E60 and change 00 00 A0 42 --> 00 00 B4 42 (16:10) or 00 00 BE 42 (16:9)

Spearhead: Go to \mainta\gamex86.dll
Cutscene FOV: Go to Offset 000E7830 and change 00 00 A0 42 --> 00 00 B4 42 (16:10) or 00 00 BE 42 (16:9)
Game FOV: Go to Offset 00147A50 and change 00 00 A0 42 --> 00 00 B4 42 (16:10) or 00 00 BE 42 (16:9)

Rather then instructing each player to do this themselfs, i think u can also Hex Edit "Gamex86.dll" and bring it out as an quick hotfix patch or something.

Some Other Sidenote,about performance i noticed that the game is limited to 135 FPS ( games defealt is max 125 ) i played around with the limits a bit, and found that the Sweetspot is exactly 333 FPS, above 334 fps the game starts to show somme strange behaviors like shocking weapons. so the sweetspot is exactly 333 fps max.

The Console command is:
com_Maxfps 333

Im currently playing this on a Single 4k monitor, at a resolution of 3840x2160p,
( going to bed now ) but tomorrow im gonna try to play this on my Triple 4k monitor setup, and see if i can get the game to work on 11520x2160p resolution,

I knew when i bought the triple 4k monitor setup that i couldnt play next Generation games on that resolution, but old games like this, or C&C Renegade, are awesome on 12k resolution !!!

I Solved it by editing the unamedsoldier file, and hex editing the game86.dll for the FOV, wich so far seems to be working on alot of the different versions of the game.

so sorry that i made such a huge post on your main wall, while i solved it.

Hey all, im on an nostalgic tour, i had this game when it first came out and had a brandnew pc for it, back in day, hehe.

now, 15 years later, i wanted to try this game again,

im currently trying to setup the game to play on 3840x2160p, im looking in your "br_settings.cfg"

and found the following text:

I tried to manually look for any of those .CFG's mentioned, so i can maby edit them to add my resolution to it. but couldn't find them.

Before i downloaded this mod, i tried it on the GOG version, on that version i managed to get the game to 3840x2160p by editing the unnamedsoldier file,

I was wondering if i do it by the way mentioned above, and by Hex editing to get the FoV correct,

does this conflict with the Excisting br_settings.cfg ???

Does anyone still have the old Christmas Demo files, back from 2009/2010 ?

i renember playing that demo version with friends 7 years ago,

Every year ive been voting on this mod for Mod of the Year competition on this website. 6 years long...

I just saw CoH2 now also has an Zombie mod, but i dont want to play that, ive been waiting 6 years for this mod,

Hell idd be happy if we could have our old demo back,
