I've been going around as a writer, but started getting drawn into Concept Art and 3D modeling. I'm currently finishing my studies as a 3D artist and will then be let loose on the world. Beware!
this is the next iteration. I removed triangles, optimized the mesh and downloaded a newer version of UDK, which also fixed some problems. I am aware that there are areas where the normal maps don't work well - the doors most of all. I have read up on it and for the normals to work right you actually have to screw up your highpoly a bit ^^
Normal maps show you an angle change, if the angle is 90° there is not much to see on the normal. So I need to use more slope.
In any way, this was an awesome experience, since so much went well and my software didn't crash. Everything was trial and error and worked out. Now I can move ahead and fix those problems with the next mesh!
