The Lego Lord of the Rings is gonna have a lot of RPG elements, a great open world, backpacks, crafting. So we can always play that game xD No seriously, lego games are pretty good, and when the make it very RPGish that sounds really good to me :) However, it might also be the reason they shut this mod down. If the make an rpg like lotr game, they won't want this to come out. It's a shame, because they stop the great work of dedicated lotr fans, and, more importantly, this mod won't come out for years to come, so it won't actually interfere with the game... Also, they might think it will interfere with lotro (which, really, is a good game too...)

You know, there's nothing wrong with what your trying to achieve, namely HS's soundtrack in the mod, but you are bashing everyone at this site atm, you make yourself look bad, you shouldn't do that, stay calm and try to convince people by using good arguments, not by hating. And, like I said before, it's really easy to put in music in Skyrim. If they don't add the HS soundtrack to this mod, just put it in yourself, it's really easy, and they won't have any law problems! :)

I don't think he means that Lastsilmaril, using a map not looking like Middle Earth and filling it up with Middle Earth stuff, but he does mean thathe thinks it is to big for the team, and he suggest a smaller world. I am against this because I think the wide spaces of Middle Earth are very important. The atmosphere of just wandering through the forrests, vales and mountains will be great, even if there isn't really anything (of course there must be textures, trees, rocks etc. but there don't have to be quests or enemies... The wide open space is one of the most important parts of Middle Earth..

Alright, let me contribute then, you have definitely read the books, but you don't understand the meaning of the book. You just like all the "cool" stuff. You say that, at the battle of pelennor fields you only though of there bravery, but that's not something hard to think off, it's what the movie wants you to think. If you only like the cool character like Aragorn etc., in my opinion you don't really understand the book. You sound as if you don't mind about Frodo and Sam at all, but only about cool fighting characters, that doesn't really show your understanding of the book. This is indeed a videogame, and I respect that you don't like playing as Frodo, but why don't you respect others when they think it is fun to do that? You comment here all the time about "cool suggestions" etc. for the mod, please join the team if you have anything constructive to suggest, because you only suggest really unimportant (at this stage) things. And last, please stop using the word ****, it's doesn't make you look smarter... Dack105, I think Sam means his father with the word Gaffer, not Frodo...

Please shut up and leave this site for ever, we don't need your stupid opinion which proves you know nothing about the idea of the Lord of the Rings....

When I read the books it feels as though he just means big wolves, but names them werwolves, a term which later changed a lot to a human wolf transforming creature. I don't feel like he means that. I'm not sure though, I didn't read it literaly so it's just a feeling...

In The Hobbit they are intelligent, with a will of there own. They have just sided with the Goblins because it makes it easier to raid the villages in Anduin valley. Of course they are now following Sauron's will, but they are, as you say, intelligent, in league with the orcs, not violated or just used by them...

The faq also says that the beta releases (Rohan release is ofc one of them) will be some kind of background info release, which will introduce you to the lore and the races. It is, according to the faq, prior to the War of the Ring. That doesn't sound like you will be able to play the main quest line to me...

Looks like a stupid game which they could have made with any franchise they wanted. That they chose the lotr world is a disgrace, it's stupid, Tolkien would have been ashamed. Games like War in the North are great compared to this ****. I wonder which idiot from the Tolkien Enterprise gave the permission to make this.

Your totally right, but isn't Skyrim one of the few games that actually has banners waving in the wind, I mean, I'm sure there are waving banners in Skyrim and I haven't really seen them anywhere else, so I don't get your talk about static flags in Skyrim.

It does say that the outward face of the wall is like Orthanc, so on the inside it could be white xD

For the main wall of the City was of great height and thickness, built ere the power and craft of Numenor waned in exile; and its outward face was like to the Tower of Orthanc, hard and dark and smooth, unconquerable by steel or fire, unbreakable except by some convulsion that would rend the very earth on which it stood.

You are right, it is dark. But could you make it like dark grey, and not pitch black, because I think that would be a bit aggressive contrast.

You shouldn't make the outer wall of Minas Tirith black. First of all, it will ruin the experience for some people. Second, they say it's of the same material as Orthanc, but that's it. Something can be of the same material and be a different color, you know. It's called the white city, I can't really believe that the wall is suppposed to be black...

You should find a way to make the grass smaller though, the grass is everywhere, growing through walls etc. I always had then problem when modding Oblivion too. Apart from that it's awesome :)

A lot of Rohan stuff matches the vanilla stuff. So for Rohan, not many new meshes and textures are needed :)

Remember that the Oblivion beta was a very early beta. There wasn't a lot of detail, they just didn't get near to finishing any area yet. The final release will have this amount of detail. And about how to find the time to put all this detail in? Have you ever played Nehrim: At fates edge? It is a total conversion mod for Oblivion. There was a lot more detail in that mod than in vanilla Oblivion, so it is very possible to achieve such a thing! :)

Looks good! In the books Gimli doesn't have a helm though, he gets one from Edoras just before they ride for Helm's Deep but he loses it in the battle again. Don't know if the modders pay attention to this much detail though, I would love to see the helm ingame xD

If I remember correct, the Ents did not let Saruman go, he escaped. Also, didn't Aragorn tell the easterlings and haradrim they could live in peace if they would never attack Gondor again?
