s2games simplified and removed a lot of good fundamental game mechanics that made Savage 1 challenging and complex (distinct races, melee system, tech tree, economy, weapon and item selection, building placement ...) and flooded Savage 2 with insignificant micro configuration (+1 blabla item there, +2 blabla regen there ...) making the game look complex, although it is empty, boring and lacks true freedom of choice and mechanics.
The reason why there are still people believing Savage 2 is a worthy sequel is because the RTSS genre is so unpopular that even the most dissimilar games within the genre look somewhat similar.
