Oi, been a long time since I finally got the time to log onto here.

I wonder how this mod has been coming along last I saw it? Hopefully it is doing well.

I had that problem with Halmar too.

I think I'ma gonna wait just a wee bit longer, for when the game is more developed. It certainly has potential as it stands so far.

There would have to be some serious balancing before tanks would be added.

Otherwise you'd end up with people spamming tanks and going balls to the wall instead of using tactics.

Ports and ships, huh? What will they be for?

Honestly, I don't think there is much of a point of adding motorcycles. After all, this game takes place somewhere around the 1920s (although the tech feels more like the 1940s). Horses will still used during the early days of tanks, and even in this mods case, an officer on horseback seems more classy compared to an officer on a motorbike.

That must have been hard, considering the fact that a lot of the world that I recall in the mod were still castles.

Who woulda thought something so outdated could prove to be so effective in modern times?

Ah, tackling another era of war, are we?

I always did honestly have an interest in Blood and Steel, but since it was multiplayer, there was no point getting it (since the community would probably be insanely small by now).

But now it seems we will be able to savor simi-modern warfare on our own as well, provided this mod goes smoothly. Just be sure to take your time, though... Doing two projects at once can be very stressful, and in my opinion it would be best to finish one before starting another.

Heres hoping this turns out swell.

alas, shields are hard to come by, and even then.. it just doesn't feel right for an officer to be running around with a shield on his back. Takes away a bit of his classiness.

Freelancer is a bad idea for this mod, trust me.

It is fun in native and more melee-focused mods (or mods that have semi-automatic weapons), but in a mod where you have to deal with muskets that take a long time to load and miss most of the time? You would probably be bored, if not frustrated.

I prefer to lead in this game anyways, for even on default settings you will die in 2-3 shots on average if you get hit by a stray bullet.

Aww.. Oh well, hopefully it'll be at least a little easier to get up the walls compared to Native.

Well, for the walkin on water thing, I think they'll find a way to make it look less strange.. Maybe take a page from Gekokujo. They have a nifty way of "walking" across water that I wish they shared with more folks.

I can also agree that grenadiers are WAY too risky to use, because all it takes is one horsemen and you risk your line blowing themselves up. Of course, they are still good field units, just not siege units, nor do you want them too close to your other lines.

As for how Cav are, of course they aren't that great now. The invention of guns was the beginning of the end of heroic cavalry charges, meaning in order to make use of your riders, you HAD to plan your charges more carefully. Used right, they are quite helpful. Still do a lot of dying, so most of your army will consist of infantry. I like it this way honestly, less cheap.

And of course, those conscripts have to be good at something.. They have no guns, meaning they are insanely weak against muskets and rifles. Not as weak as the Arabic recruits, but still.

And yeah, I can't wait for the next update, when sieges are updated for the period. It is insanely hard to take a castle with all those guns blasting down at you while you climb a ladder, and it oftentimes requires multiple attempt to even take a singe castle sometimes.. But it sure it satisfying when you do take it, compared to Native where most castles are a cakewalk if you have elite units leading the way.

Oh, how I cannot wait to see the next update. I feel it is gonna be lovely.

I'm not sure if you are aware of this, but the Vaegir assault units (with the assault rifles) seem to have an odd spawn issue, where they often won't spawn with a weapon at all, handicapping them considerably. I'm not sure if this affects other faction units, but is is worrying when you are in a fight with only 20 men and only 5 of them have guns while the rest have only their fists.

Heck, Tier 3 Vaegir riflemen lack any sort of melee weapon too, which is kinda scary when you are in a heated battle and suddenly run out of ammo, making your men utterly worthless in a charge. I hope you fixed these in the latest update, but if not, I might as well bring it up, just so you know.

On the topic of assault weapons, have you made any improvements to them in the latest update? As of now, it is really hard to use ARs because they fire full auto when you don't want them to, the AI seeming to be the only one able to fire in bursts. If you do plan changes to them, I think making them burst weapons would make aiming and firing them easier, rather than spraying loads of lead at enemies with most of your ammo being wasted.

Oh good, an open door. No more climbing up ladders and pushing siege towers, and more focus on unit placement, just as a gunpowder mod should be.

Probably in a few months.

I myself just went "screw it, I can't wait no mores", so I figure I might as well sample 1.5 and fiddle about while I wait for the next release. Might as well try a demo before getting the real deal.

You know... While I waited for the next update, I suddenly got thinkin....

In later updates, how are you going to handle tournaments anyways? Are they going to continue being reenactments of feudal combat, or will they get a more modern update?

Well, for one, I don't think there is a way to remove the "advanced" commands. You'll just have to stick with them.

As for the stabs, Nurd discusses that he wanted players to focus more on tactics rather than just running in with a musket and going stabby mcstabby like you normally see in the NW expansion. So no, you won't be able to have units that only do upper and lower stabs.

I am aware of the french unit problem too... I believe it might be a bug in the unit tree, which could be easily fixed by fiddling with the tree and pointing the branch in the right direction.

Also, in the later version the people of Gottemark will be able to move normally in the latest update.

Oh really? FINALLY. It was so awkward walking pass the border and seeing the entire army stuck in a mountain. Maybe now they will be able to defend their nation without getting bogged down anymore.

In Gekokujo, the modder added some kind of interesting device where, if you fight on a road or a bridge or on water, a map made just for it spawns instead of the normal random generated one.

Maybe you could ask the dev behind it and find out some things? Could be a nice touch.
