Is this mod dead already? The forum site doesn't seem to be working anymore and I haven't seen where the mods been updated recently :P.
When did you appear?! Boy I hope you guys know what your getting yourselves into, U4 was not only one of the best of the series... it was also one of the longest ;) Wish you guys the best of luck, however I'm kind of at a loss of words seeing something like this end up in Half-Life 2's mods.
I couldn't get it to show up on steam. I installed it and restarted steam and it didn't work. I went in and renamed the folder (removing the space between ultimate and deathmatch) and restarted steam, still nothing. I renamed it again using a _ between ultimate and deathmatch, and it still would not show up. Maybe something in the recent (December 19th) patch might have screwed something up (as usually all Valve patch's do) but until there is a fix of some sort I won't be able to give my opinion on this mod.
Saw your mod and noticed... there are no comments. Usually I base my decision to get a mod by comments and description (mostly by description) but this time description only got my attention. I'll check it out and let you know what I think of it :D.
not a bad looking model, just hope it doesn't have any kick or bye bye wrist :P
what happened to my origional post, did I make you guys look too bad by proving that the m4 was not around in the 1960's so you had to get rid of it before everyone found out? People, go out and do some research, the M4 wasn't nowhere near the 1960's, and all I was doing was trying to help you out by showing that, but I guess historical accuracy doesn't take any precedent to having a pretty flashy mod with all sorts of guns does it?
Looks good, can't wait to do proxy mine matches (this was something fun me and my brother or some friends did where one person would put mines all over the place while the other person hunts them down with whatever they have lol)
I found this mod quite fun, although it would be awesome if the developers went further and made a complete storyline or followup to what happens after the end of this one. All in all, it was fun, especially being able to pick up multipul objects at one time and throw em all at once. A+ in my book guys... only problems I had with the game was: 1. Too short... seems all the good games are coming up too short nowdays :( 2. There were some times where the camera angle was kinda funky and I saw the girls face... through the back of her head... haw. 3. It kinda sucked that you get the Hellfire stuff like 3 minutes before the end of the game. But, I really can't complain for a TC that came out in 5 months time and pretty much delivered all it said it would :D Thanks for a fun little side game, keep up the good work.
If that was even your argument... I really need to quit trolling at midnight... lol.
But CrazyEyes, the only problem with your argument is that OpposingSource is doing the origional OpFor in the source engine, while this one appears to be a whole new adventure. (Perhaps looking at the about would give some insight being in this it talks about fighting combine... something unheard of in the origional OpFor)
I played a little with the beta release. I like the gun models and such but I had a few things I didn't like... The scopes on the SMG and Pulse Rifle were nonfunctional, there were a few sounds that sorta hurt the game rather than helped (the explosions I felt hurt the most... they sounded too much like a gun blast than a free explosion) and the models were all left handed (I know its a big thing with left handed people that there be left handed models, but for right handed people it kinda throws us off, so maybe an option for both left and right?) I know its still just a beta and there still needs to be alot of work done, I think the mod will look great when it is complete, but those are just a few of the major issues I had with it.
technically, the best game ever is very subjective to opinion... like I could probably say that Fallout is the best game ever created, and people would disagree with me, its called opinion, no matter how stupid (unless its Adventures of Lolo 3 for NES, then your really just an idiot)
And the ejector port is on the wrong side :P
Kristus: I guess thats why I found the game so awesome, of course I'm the type to really get into a game, whether it has great gameplay or not. I felt that the portrayal of Hell was rather good. I tried this mod out a while back and felt they did a really good job modernizing the original Doom's levels, and while they were still just Doom levels, they still provided a good shoot to something out of the norm (a.k.a. Load up CS, find a server, then a buncha clannies come in and vote for scoutsnknives, woohoooooo (sarcasm) lets all jump around in near zero gravity and stab at each other) Its mods like this that take the classics and make them more modern that breathes new life into games. However its stupid game publishers that try to take old classics and rework them so that they aren't anywhere near to what the original game was that screw up alot of stuff (I'm still waiting for them to bring back Commander Keen, you know its inevitable)
In short, I just gotta say, can't wait for more episodes, hope you do as well with Doom 2 if you choose to go into that (woohoo), great work on whatcha got... er.. bye.
