Welcome! I'm the dork responsible for the Half-Rats series/Universe. I like to make music and meat products. I front the band, "Arsenic Tea Party". Additionally, I am a carpenter, and very difficult to kill. They tried, trust me.

Delta Particles

Mod review

I was honored to be asked to personally beta test this mod. I didn't get through it because life and my own mods ate up most of my time, but the level design was great. The mod plays like a game produced by a professional team. I would highly recommend!

Grey

Mod review

Nice! Only complaint was the enemies were a bit tough to dodge in melee, and had a bit too much health at first, but it was a nice challenge. Had my head on a swivel the entire time I was playing. Ammo was plentiful if you took the time to explore.

The pinnacle of quality. We need more mods like this. ABSOLUTELY!

Military Duty

Mod review

The mapping was good, I liked the new models - they really freshened everything up. There were some glitches, but those were probably client side. Had to noclip through a door once because it got stuck. A lot of spots were tough, but not too tough. Nothing was really vague. Liked seeing the dorms, and was pretty chuffed to see the Blue Shift food courts and laundromat. Would liked to have seen more ammo for the M249 and spore launcher, though!

Hopeless Night

Mod review

Despite the recycled content, the mapping was good, the enemy placement was as well. The lack of a crosshair made things more realistic. Sure, there were cliches, but the part with Harry made it much more interesting. The protagonist's desire to return home should have been conveyed a bit better earlier on, though. Since, he had a lot at stake. The ending felt a little abrupt, but was very depressing! You fatalist you!

Cthulhu

Mod review

I finally played this game. I'm a fan of HP Lovecraft. I couldn't help but notice a lot of similarities between this and my own mod! There are a few bugs that are game-breaking, some cut-scenes can actually get a player killed, there's a few cosmetic errors here and there, and the mapping's not the best...but all-in-all, I enjoyed this mod. It can be quite difficult in some areas. I played it on easy with Godmode on. Aside from the flaws, a lot of thought went into this game.

Mod review

The mapping wasn't great, but the level design worked nice with the types of enemies that were featured. Fun game, depressing ending!

Mistake -1

Mod review

I liked this mod. A lot. I didn't get a chance to play Mistake, though. Perhaps I'll try again? It is Halloween soon after all.

Half-Life Thanatophobia

Mod review

Love it! But, dear god, you have to finish this. Once you get the ball rolling, don't let it stop. If you say you can't because you "have exams", I'm going to kidnap you and make you finish it.

Survive in Catacombs 1 - Remod

Mod review

I'm going to give this mod a fair review.

The level design was nice, and the sequencing was okay, but I would have made a more expansive town. The mapping in many spots could have been a bit better and a lot more detailed, but the game still had a great atmosphere regardless of that. While it's no excuse, I know how much work goes into making a mod.

I'm not sure if the enemies were the author's or not, as he/she didn't include a readme or credits, but they were quite varied, as well as spooky. The bulging red eyes on some of the models DID reduce the scariness level a bit, however.

The weapons were fun. Each had its use for different circumstances.

The story should have been fleshed out a lot more, but I appreciated the inclusion of subtitles, as well as the journal entries by the protagonist.

Sadly, the mod is broken, however, and crashes - which disappoints me greatly. This is something that should be addressed with a new version, or with a trusty Russian with an entpatch. For this reason, I'm giving it a 6/10.
