Our PHS_FPS is a high school level indie team from Palmdale High School, Ca. Our video game production class FalconTechStudios, allows students to simulate a real-world production studio experience by working in interdisciplinary production departments to create a multi-faceted, large-scale video game production. Students also work in small teams across the production cycles towards indie production, building a 2D video game based on a current generation game remixed to a different genre. Teams are encouraged to particapte within the indie community and support the use of open-source software. Rules: sprite based, remix of an existing video game. Our decision: Starcraft using the Wolfenstein 3D engine. Ready for one insane ride. I am told there will be fights, ripping hair out, some tears and lots of long nights. We have less than a year, but we can do this. Are you down?
Another day in FalconTech working on the ol' game.
Todays mission: more sprites. Wall Textures. Learn to get the colors right.
Woah is it scary to make a yellow and blue picture, import it in flowedit and have it come out red and grey.
Took twenty minutes to figure out how to use a color palette in any program. Figured it out for photoshop, go figure.
2 wall textures and a handful of sprites (about one or two per character working on) made.
A productive day...week...time.
