panzer225 here-My BIGGEST COMPLAINT on all these mods for FREELANCER is they give you all these new places to go to,but,NOBODY EXPANDS THE INFORMATION LOGS so you can find out some info on jump holes and stations in the new sectors.ALL YOU GET ARE THE ORIGINAL INFO LOGS FROM THE ORIGINAL GAME !!!

panzer225 here-About 95 percent of this new expansion of Discovery has a lot going for it.But there are still problems with un-docking of large transports ( asteroid miner) from Freistadt Base.At least there was a ship I had to buy to get out of the problem.I lost about 4 million on that one.I'm having problems finding the Discovery Scanner,its not in Newcastle.Also having problems finding the jump hole in Dublin to get to Omega-49.I wish they made the jump holes more visible.The story line has really changed travel routes with all the blown jump gates.All the power plants just don't get you any advantages,the weapons have been changed to dreary weapons,and the new torpedoes are lackluster at best. This Mod has a lot of work to be done to it. This is Discovery 4.87.05 and it still needs a lot of work,after three major "upgrades",they still can't it to work right.

Another way to run Freelancer when using FLMM is delete all auto mods loaded by FLMM:Battleship mod,ghost docking,etc,etc.The only mod that should be in FLMM is the mod your trying to run.I have Windows 7-64 bit and I run or have run Frontier Space 1.75,Rebalanced 3.20 to 3.56 Rc4,Phoenix 1.04 to 1.07,Genisis 1.0 OSP,Discovery 4.81 to 4.95.I also disable Dynamic Comm window because it frees up about 16kb for the program to run better.

panzer225 to brolee-In ALL mods of freelancer,the easiest way to blow up the enemy is to have at least one kind of weapon in each weapons slot,like slot one a laser,slot two a pulse weapon,slot three a neutron gun,slot four a mass driver.Since most mods only allow only ONE kind of shield can be used,then having multiple kinds of weapons will have an advantage over your enemies.In Rebalanced 3.55 and beyond the are ships that have TWO shield slots,and there are a couple of ships that can carry all three kinds of shields!!

panzer225 to brolee--With the Discovery Mods 4.84 was the last useable Mod in this series. 4.85 went thru 3 "revisions" and the mod suffered more and more with each "revision". Like Cross-fire,the only time you encounter other ships,is when you take on a mission to kill somebody.There's no patrols,no military or pirates or police or bounty hunters scanning your cargo for illegal contents.And it's another mod which only uses one kind of shield at a time.Lots of cool ships and nice cargoes,but they elimited the original game base,due to several jump gates and jump holes being removed or re-routed!!!Many ships have trouble docking with mooring docks at planets,especially with 4.86,which "THEY" REFUSE TO FIX!!!

panzer225 to brolee...With cross-fire you are stuck with eye candy graphics,the only value trade is pilots,cargo ships are hidden in out of the way locations,and your stuck with basic weapons,most "new" ships are in "out of sirius"locations,and since you CAN'T USE Freelancer Companion it takes 2 or 3 hundred hours to finally find THAT THIS MOD SUCKS!!!

panzer225 to brolee-- In most Freelancer MODS,when you blow up a weapons platform,you get nothing!!!In Rebalanced,you usually get a Deep Scanner-which you can repair and mount on your ship or if you have it already,you can sell it for 12,000 credits-everything has value in Rebalanced,even pilots!!In the original Freelancer,all NPC DIE !!!In Rebalanced most pilots eject,and sometimes weapons,scanners,cargo,nanobots,shield batteries,etc.,etc.!!!Just download Freelancer Companion from www.wizou.com for the BEST guide,works with most mods for freelancer,EXCEPT cross-fire mods and Discovery 4.86...

panzer225 to brolee--It's simple ...ALL of the OTHER mods are merely the same Freelancer game with simple add on's,means you're stuck with ordinary engines,limited powerplants,zero adjustment to shields,limited scanners,and limited item pick-ups after the battles to come.In Rebalanced(3.20-3.56 Rc4),you start with a ship,change the weapons,adjust the engines,the power plant,add shield enhancers,add more powerful scanners,change thrusters,add armor,weapons and find the ships with two or even three shields mounted at the same time!!!

panzer225 to 9littlebees-- OOPS!!!!-Game runs OK for about 2+ hours,and crashes to desk top( CTD ).There's a program buffer built-in to the base program which will fill up to a set "shut down" point.If your not running 16-bit programing or not runnimg 256 color video the program WILL CTD!!!You will end up limiting game time to 2 HOURS or less,reboot your system after each save point,to continue to play the game.I haven't been able to find the "bug" without the original source code.Simple.Just put together 9.75 million dollars and buy the source code,all programming and graphics for Freelancer from Microsoft!!!

panzer225 to 9littlebees--- For your INFORMATION,I was one of the ORIGINAL PLAY TESTERS of FREELANCER,BUT QUIT when they started to develop the multi-player version.I JUST DON'T LIKE MULTI-PLAYER GAMES..PERIOD!!!I HAVE CURRENTLY 3 original disks,2 original guide books,AND have been updating this mod to 32-bit and 64-bit,and have expanded the playing field to another 26 sectors,Sirius in the middle,with the others surronding the center,plus 3,700 plus ships,some sixty plus races,and over 1,500 planets,5,300 stations,and over 1,675 jump gates,jump holes and other objects,some 2,800 wrecks...

panzer225 to all---What's "Puffy" doing at the bar at Planet Tomioka in Reisen???Update 6 is up and running, AND TRUE TO FORM,the camara freighter STILL can not dock at Furyoku Station,dock two,Okinawa!!!It just does a "circle dance" and refuses to dock!!Had to grab on to near-by planet or trade gate to stop from getting dizzy!! dock One is still O.K.,all is not lost!!

panzer225 to r4plez-The simple way to run this mod is #1.go to microsoft.com and download and install Virual PC and Windows XP mode.Once installed,right click on Freelancer Icon on Desktop,click on compatiblity,set the program on Windows XP mode,click on apply,then you can run just about 95 percent of all mods for ANY game!!!DON'T run game in administer settings-game will CRASH!!!!

panzer225 to bluewario- I've got 5 machines currently running Freelancer mods-2 xp machines,1 laptop and 1 desk top.One desk top running Vista/32 bit,and one laptop running Windows 7/32 bit,and my primary internet machine which is a desk top running Windows 7/64 bit.I've played just about ALL of the mods for Freelancer,mainly single player,and my favorite OPEN SINGLE PLAYER!!!My FIRST mod I ever played on Freelancer was FREELANCER-THE NEXT GENERATION,some 5 variations,then Freespace 1.75,then Rebalanced 3.20.Then Discovery 4.81,then Rebalanced 3.50,and Crossfire 1.72,and so on and so on...

panzer225 here-You have to see it to believe it--the Freistadt-Glasgow type stations have a severe un-docking problem!!!Most of them will dock the freighters thru the LARGE PORTS,and then try to un-dock the ships thru the SMALL PORTS!!!The only one I've seen that docks and un-docks thru the LARGE PORTS is the one at Planet Hamburg!!!

panzer225 to Ballroom and franky_lee2000-There is a story line,but is being run only in the multi-player form thru the internet.It changes from version number to version number.Not like cross-fire 1.9,which just put a story-line to the last 5 years of mod making.It's just an add-on to the original story-line which goes up to chapter 33 or so.

panzer225 here-the only ships in my version of freelancer,destined to remain in space,never to land on a planet,are my Planet Killer class warships.Besides having weapons,when collectively used, can destroy a planet,this class of warship can, and has been used in this tactic,of flying right through the target planet!!!

panzer225 here-Had to reload windows so I made my #1 computer Windows 7-64 Ultimate.Downloaded discovery 4.86 Final!!!So far,so good..the only complaint is you still can't leave Gran Canaria with a Pelican armoured Transport!!!!The ship is embeted on the mooring posts,ican wiggle it all over the place,even slide it up and down,but it's STUCK!!! Had to re-dock with planet and buy a smaller ship,thus loosing a valuable cargo haul,Plus a valuable cargo ship!!!WHY CAN'T YOU GUYS JUST GET RID OF THE F@$KING MOORING POSTS!!!If you look at the docking rings,to apparentt scale, the rings should be able to handle just about any ship,so far,has been drawn up for this game!!!

panzer225 to brolee-the easiest way to get pass the militart gunner is to sprint to the rocks from the tunnel,then hang a a sharp left up the hill,sprinting all the way.Most of the weapons fire is limited to 200 meters!!
