"(Unfortunately the Ice Weaver melted, it turns out Ice and lava don't mix who'd have thought)"

We used this scene to record part of a trailer, the Frostweaver is present in the trailer, they literally melt overtime and when I had a chance to take the screenie he had melted. I'm getting childhood recollection for crying at the snowman film!

Hi Dinomaniak,

1. We're not actively trying to combat piracy, though the game is currently only available on Steam, we expect cracks will happen, especially when we release the DRM-Free version and ultimately our development time is better spent elsewhere.

2. Sold-out are our Publishing Partner, they're responsible for producing, distributing and marketing the physical copy of WFTO. See this FAQ for more. Wftogame.com

Simply put they help us reach a wider audience and we get to keep complete control over our game. They've not invested in development or taken over the project beyond investing in physical production and marketing. :)

Hi Templarfreak,

In WFTO we introduce the concept of Dungeon Themes, which are more than just skins but entire aesthetic overhauls to represent different Underlords or Empire factions within the campaign.

Each Theme has it's own set of Meshes and Textures for Walls, Tiles, Dungeon Cores, Workers, Door Headers, Tile Toppers and more. They're one of the most asset intensive things we do and our art team works diligently to make them all feel special! :)

This was we can add extra personality to all the different Underlords and Empire factions who appear in the campaign, and of course give players the opportunity to differntiate themselves in Non-campaign modes!

Cheers,

Lee

Noontide - - 16 comments @ WFTO Wednesday #109: "Rated D for Delayed"

We'll certainly be ready. We'd love to have the budget and resources of a company like Blizzard as we really do want the game to be perfect on release.

However as an independent crowd-funded start-up working on our first project we have to stick to a relatively fixed project plan, lest we destroy ourselves and disappoint a great many of our fans and backers.

Ultimately we plan to support War for the Overworld for a long time after release, essentially as long as it is financially viable for us to do so. This is our baby, a game we've longed to play for many years and finally have the opportunity to do so; we want to work on it until we're happy with it and every little bit of support we receive both before and after release will let us continue for as long as we can.

April 1st would have certainly been a fishy date for us. We were originally headed for April 3rd but that date is a bank holiday in the UK.

Music wise we've already got some ambient and combat music in. There's still plenty more to go though :)

Thanks! It's great to be back.

For the most part we'll be keeping them in line with our news posts at wftogame.com, but I personally feel we can at least bring it to your door. I'll be around to answer questions as well. :)

Dawn of War 2 made me laugh at how totally ignorant it made space marines seem.

"What are these foul creatures?"

*Face palm* Mankind's finest warriors indeed.

DoW2 is not an accurate source of lore, in fact its only accurate in that it shows space marines acting hard as nails, As gadji says the tyranid hive fleets have been stopped before.

Korge clearly saw the word zombies and rushed up to prounounce this mod as a rip off of L4D.

I mean since when were zombies used before L4D! /Sarcasm off

As Potteh said you owe Dec an apology for slagging off his work when he puts so much effort into it.
