Well, first off, I was listening to Forest Law's arcade/PSX themes from the Tekken 3 OST and only one thing entered my mind when listening to them, "I wanna remix that." Unfortunately, I haven't found a guitarist willing to remix it with me, and I haven't found any guitar sample like what I'm looking for, so that remix is on a long hold until then. So after I got my first real urge to make music, I just googled for music making programs or something, and found a site that showed some of the best music software. FL Studio 5 and Reason both caught my attention, but I couldn't use Reason at all, and found FL Studio 5 much easier, and I could do a lot more in the demo. After about 2 mmonths of teaching myself just about everything, I asked my dad if he'd let me buy it. So I did, and now currently have FL 7 producer. When I could finally use the collab side program, I got a lot of help from many other FL users. I don't think I'd get as far in music as I have without all their help.
M.T.M are my initials, and 0201 was just added on cause I didn't think MtM was enough. MtM0201 is also my gamer-tag, Xbox Live tag, AIM screenname, mod tag (kinda obvious) and a lot of other stuff. I've just liked it and have kept using it for just about everything.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Linkin Park, Tribal Ink, Deftones, Breaking Benjamin, and Stained are some of my big time influences, but a lot of my personal influences are the FL collab people that helped me out, and my church's rock band (OMG did he just say his church has a rock band?!?!?!!111). Yes, my church does cause it's awesome and stuff. Back on topic, I gotta say that even though I have a lot of musical influences, there's always room to all of the video-game musicians that have inspired me, from when I began to now. I'll only name two of my biggest game musicians only cause it's a long list lol. So...there's Kelly Bailey, Valve's musician...inspired me to remix some already awesome songs and recreate that Half-Life feel in a new way. Tommy Tallarico, who is pretty well known for the Earthworm Jim soundtracks. I always enjoyed his wacky, yet very melodic works, such as Too Many Tangerines (EWJ2) and Buttville (EWJ).
At the moment, Goldeneye 00-Heaven, but other than that I'm still looking for another mod.
The multi-player games I play the most often are Counter-Strike:Source, Half-Life: 2: Death Match, and Day of Defeat: Source. For single-player, I just beat Half-Life: 2 Episode 2 over the weekend cause I bought it last Friday. Some of the mods I have played are Coastline to Atmosphere, Awakening, Minerva, Goldeneye: Source, Zombie Master, Perfect Dark: Source, and Rock 24.
Yes. Working on videogame soundtracks for a major gaming company would be wiked sweet. Would prove my parents wrong that videogame designers/musicians don't make much of a living lol.
Hmm...never really thought about it too much. FPS definately, it's my gaming nitch. As for anything else, not that sure. Maybe after some more experience with FPS I'll move on to RTS/stragetic mods. Racing games are good too, so maybe I'll mod for some of them later.
So that's it for the questions that I've been asked (that I remember). If anyone has anymore, I'll be sure to save them and awser them in another blog.
