Rubbish, the audio engine is entirely my work, and used in both Paintball2 and Q2E, All the AI is written entirely from scratch and all my own work, huge quantities of the textures are done either by me, members of the team, and some others are used with permission from the orginal authers. how dare you say a project that has been almost my life for over 7 years comes for no effort, managing the shear number of people involved alone is almost a full time job. let alone all the web design, tech demo releases and sub projects involved in bringing a project such as this to the point it is at now.

Stubid that there are no servers. Why you the game maker do server??


The game has been going for many years, even before I took over. There are many, many players, most of whom I either know or have spoken too This game is a community project of unriveled proportions (even by HL, CS and HL2 standards) Which is why it is contribution based, old and new players can play it, but people who want to 'leech' everybody elses work can either contribute with even more content, for the benifit of all those who have gone before, or donate funds to be used to improve the project. These players form a fairly close knit groups of friends who are glad their games arn't plagued by cheaters and poluted with u18 garbage chat.

Their are many servers, and much more content. These are included in the donate version.

and its not $35 its more like $15,

The player models from AQ2 date back to the late 90's, and sure their not the best of player models (mostely due to the limitations of the MD2 format) although, other than the fact some were made by the gy who then went on to make CS thats where the similarities end.

Instead of critising why dont you take some time to look at the project history, then maybee work with us to make 1 or two player models I can use with the ragdol physics code to bring what you ask for....

You speak that you 'know your facts' yet you quite blatently comment on a mod thats 'like CS you should report..to them' - I give English lessons as well if your struggling to work out the difference between to and from. CS is LIKE AQ2, AQ2 came first, was the biggest mod of its time, and still has a very strong community which was the building block for CS, just because counter strike was taken on (and became damaged goods in the process) by Valve and had a huge mount of money pumped into advertising it, does not make it any less the spin off of AQ2, AQ2 is hence further up the food chain and eats little kids like you for breakfast. I suggest you stick to burning your fingers on the grill and keep out of things that are way out of your league.

erm, did you know that Gooseman, the original creator of CS among other things actually designed the model for the sniper rifle, AQ2 is like 4 years older than CS, and is the project Goose worked on before moving onto his own, now infamous mod. It might be worth checking your facts before complaining

For the benifit of everyone else:
the textures he refers to were included in a public domain AQ2 retexturing project, he since decided that unlike almost every other public domain texture artist instead of simply providing credit he should be contacted before using his work, and they have since been removed from the project.
should you wish to use his textures in another project he requests you contact him first. I personally would not recommend doing so since it has been proved that he has submitted work in the past to the project he referes to using origonal Quake 3 artwork illegally.

your MOD looks pretty cool too but i havn't quake2 so i never can play it.

then I have good news for you. That full installer is standalone, you dont need quake2 :p

Ok as I said in my final thoughts, I hoped I hadn't missed any1 off the credits, well I have just been contacted by quaked_out that some of the textures were done by him and he wasn't credited properly for them. Also from this, I noticed that a text file with credits in is missing from the install, I am unable to find the altered file which included the files we actually used, so I have pasted the details of the origonal credits file of the texture pack below:

^and gain access to the source code for the engine, rather than just using an external dll, with any luck they'll do the same as ID has done with the quake II angine and give us a GNU licensed copy :D

I think it means that if you are wanting to develope a mod for download on this site you can use there engine for free, or almost anyway. thats why the dual license, one license for the 'garden shed' progammers, and one for the game company developers.

The full version also means you dont need to own any game to play it since we have just finished replacing everything required to make this a stand alone game (q2 source released under gpl), just install and play with much gfx improvements over standard q2 :D
