Mad about game development! I am looking forward to a career in the games industry after I graduate my degrees. Also mad about C&C, the old ones.

They are called public assets... C&C has a moding community outside of MODDB and some people just make units and upload for other mod makers to use...

Will be redesigning all of the current tanks, the German ones need more WW2 influence and look too modern for the designed era, and the American ones need to not be completely influenced by real life tanks. The sheridan was light, but was never a light tank. Main gun was 152mm and even fired missiles!

Probably go for something similar to the German bomber :) But there is a good chance I will be changing textures in the future.

Just have to add alittle more detail, and some grenade launchers for good measure.

Also the heavy tank has changed abit, it has been scaled to have similar dimensions to the original RA renders, but none of the design work for this unit has been changed.

I'm loving the work that has happened so far!! The music is incredibly nostalgic and is a definite tip of the hat to Frank Klepacki.

Definitely RA3, I have always wanted to make it fun to play, and also make it more like the originals in my own way. I appreciate your enthusiasm because I am looking forward to it too:)

Haha, just figured out why the high poly count, forgot to optimise it manually after shaping the chassis and the guards....Will still be getting rid of the wheels and just relying upon the tex though.

No probs dude, will probably wait till I have these and afew more textured and in game before I start a company on here, don't even have a name for it yet, or even a name for this mod.

They should have made it in WW2 imo. Or perhaps they may consider that afterwards.

I'm liking what I am seeing:) By having two engines instead of four, it seems like its a lighter bomber

This is actually perfect for targetable airstrikes. This is because if the aircraft was any bigger, it will have to be scaled down further, kind of making it look odd as the scales between ground vehicles and aircraft will be too far apart.

Are you keen to focus on the aircraft of this hypothetical mod:P

Also, I mainly just use Facebook and sometimes Google+. Now I think of it Google+ would be perfect to house inter-mod communication, Unless we can secure a forum space here.

Still the first iteration, considering bringing some WW2 German inspired tank design characteristics for the next iteration. Especially for the turret.

I also want to do something different with the chassis.

Considering a dark olive drab, similar to US armoured units of the time. Not too sure yet. There was some experimental digital camo used by an armoured unit posted in West Germany during the 80's as well, would be a good influence I think.

Im considering making the wheels like that of the others, and simply rely upon the texture and UVmap to provide the detail, as the poly count for this unit is just sitting above 4000...

Also there was still plenty of prop aircraft being used in Vietnam, some really cool ones actually and don't forget the Mustangs' and Sea Furys'. I look forward to seeing what sort of concepts you come up with:)

I havn't really though of the Aircraft yet, though I was going to mimic the color schemes used in RA3 for the USA, they seem too stick out really well. Though for other nations I am going to take inspiration from their governing real life countries.

I cant see why there cant be some prop aircraft in the mix. I mean the original Yak was a prop aircraft. Was going to be definitely taking influences from the Tupolev Tu-95 and the B29 as well.

Small lightly armoured vehicle on par with the Sheridan light tank of the USA Army. 90mm main weapon with a 50cal cupola to be added later. The protruding box represents a good old 1960's era experimental laser range finder.

The industry here is scaling back more into portable device development in my city (Brisbane), with some larger companies down south in Sydney and Melbourne. I do however have English citizenship and will probably find myself over in Europe once I graduate.

As for your offer, I would gladly accept any help:) Though presently I want to trial the workload just with myself to ensure I can be a good example for others. The last thing I want is, (like some previous projects) to get really excited about a concept and realise I cant actually work on it due to work, RL and studies. Then make excuses and promises that work will continue while doing nothing haha. I really want to get this off the ground and actually finish something for a change:)

So I'll trial this for a month and see how much work I get done, then if things look promising, I'll get you onboard for sure.

Same goes for other people as well:)

For me, I value the goal of completing the project as well as ensuring it remains balanced and fun over who does what and who goes into the credits at the end:)

Cheers dude, the luck wishes mean a hell of alot:P Yeah went to my first lecture yesterday of my new degree, and one point covered was that games development is no longer a cottage industry, people need professional qualifications to get in. And the job descriptions have all become abit blurred compared to say 10 - 15 years ago.

I hope everyone will think so, it's a rather exciting concept. Not only am I doing it because I enjoy what I do, but I also want to finish something and use it to better my ability to get my foot in the door of the games industry.

The texture is only temporary, the camo will be striped diagonally for greater effect and the constriction lines will become more realistic to represent greater structural integrity.

The white parts of the aircraft, except the stripes, are new additions that reflect the my concept drawing much more accurately.

It was free to play, but they make money off of advertisement. They would have used our assets to make their IP more appealing thus drawing a larger user base. Also, making a mod for this IP would only help them in getting their name out there.

But yeah, long ago now haha, nothing to worry about.

**** dude, didn't see this message. My main concern, and hence the reason for cancelling the project was that it was not our own IP, hence they could use our assets to develop sprites for their site, thus making money off of our hard work.
