Mortecha - A name I randomly self generated for a character I created while playing a game called Daggerfall, humbly introduced to me as a child through my Dad's interest in the game. The meaning behind the name is "More technology of death". Death being contained in "Morte", French for death. The ending "a" is reference to the 40k Orkish propensity to add "a" on the end of words, eg "DAKKA". I can thank my Dad for that too due to his interest in the franchise. The name implies humanities exponential ability to kill itself as technology progresses over time, and the need for it in order to maintain peace. I love DX, Syndicate, Cannon Fodder, C&C and MOO. I also love game design. In the process of loving these I taught myself how to code and make 3d models. All of these attributes also conflict as making games requires a disconnection from fandom as you are making a product to sell, yet in the process of making and releasing products to sell, you create fandom. So therefore, MODS!

This is the wrong place to vent your frustration about the franchise. Join a forum and do it there.

Yeah best not to muddy the legal water with mixing EULAs and such.

Nah, no need to buy anything from the market place even though they look amazing. They are just eye candy at the moment as they are for adding polish to nearly finished projects.

Haha, thought about that today too. They will be able to be killed.

Possibly, but these are two completely seperate things so any similarities would be merely coincidental.

Mortecha @ Lockpicking

Nope, the lockpicking skill will remain and have an effect upon the difficulty of the lockpicking minigame. The other factor that determines difficulty will be the base difficulty of the lock.

Just had a look at their materials usage policy and all should be good. Thankfully they are far more lenient than Nintendo about these sorts of thingsXD

There is that risk but I doubt it would be in their interests to do so as the project would only boost interest in the franchise for their next game, if they even make another one.

This is an entirely open sourced non-commercial fan project so hopefully that would be enough to keep it under the legal radar. And if not I'm sure that if any concerns are raised, they can be discussed and worked around as needed.

Haha not a weird question at all. I do intend to add gore to it, but it will be toned down by default to a base level of goriness. Then if people want it they can choose from a acouple of levels of it in the options.

Not that I care about PCness or complaints from parents etc. but the base level aims to be just right for immersion and similarity to the originals but abit more than that.

I've been thinking about it since there's a 3 year difference between the two, so a 20th anniversary of IW would be doable. There's alot of things that can be improved on it too so if all goes well here then definitely.

Yes and no as this rests in a grey area. It's not going to be a commercial product and will be open source so is therefore not an Indie. It could also be considered a mod for UE4. Should create a listing for this in Indie DB anyway.

I agree, luckily we have excellent inspirations to draw upon which set the standard. HR's and MD's designs and concepts for a start + many more.

Yeah, not sure how that would have come about. Perhaps merging with Helios enabled him to speak their language. Maybe he saved them before he blew up the reactors in IW earning their respect since all three endings of DX occur. Magic?

Just getting everything organised. Ideas I have on paper and ones floating around in my mind will trickle into the MODDB forum and mod updates.

Yeah the way I see it, it's in the original for one and it's such a well designed weapon that it would remain effective and favorable for a long time, well beyond 2050. Much like the Browning 1911 has today.

As an Australian, I just want to say that these three poorly informed, sensationalist seeking retards do not reflect the point of view of the majority of the country. Channel 7 is such a joke, glad I don't have a TV.

Also Hacker, Blackmarket?? LMAO!!!

This voxel would do really well with animated tracks like those produced by our Chinese counterparts on RA2DIY.

I'm normally against the practice as it's too much work for so little reward, but since these tracks are exposed, it would look great in-game so is worthy of the extra effort.

I remember way back in 2008 when Aro thought this was a good idea. I was too self obsessed with modding fandom, being involved almost superficially with TSD and too self absorbed in my own ideas of what C&C should be! Eventually followed by a reluctance to continue modding with an ageing engine to be able to see the genius behind this mod and what Aro has accomplished.

Now we are greeted with the best TS mod in existence to date, may Aro's and all contributors sacrifices in time, energy and effort never be taken in vein, EVER!

Download this mod, you won't regret it.
