Thank you for taking the time to answer and for creating this. I am about to finish my first darthmoded campaign as Hattori. As I have completed every personal goal in mp and sp, this mod renewed my interest. What I enjoy the most is the boosted AI during real time combat. Specially when I hunt down enemy general before the actual battle.

I just downloaded the latest version and went through every stem of installing. Now when I start the game from Steam I get the usual starting screen. Is this normal?

Mission 4 was truly epic. After securing my side of the river with marauders and bulldozers, I switched tactics and created 14! airfields. 14*4=56 Sidewinders throwing Tiberium Gas on every powerplant installation on the other side. From there it was mostly a massacre. I wonder has anyone here tried to move troops with tunnels on the other side?

I was expecting too much from this mod. Anyway, it was a nice try. I guess for now we will have to find a way to install Dune 2000 on windows 7.

I am now taking a short break from SC2 and finishing the campaign here. Amazing mod and definitely in top 2 mods for CnC3 alongside Tiberium Essence.

It is ok once this is a mod and not an official full game, but if you are looking for balance comments, I think soemthing is wrong with Tic Tanks and the Forgotten engineers. If you deploy the TTs at a choke point and then assign 1-2 engineers to heal those , soon these rank up to be unbeatable self healing beasts.

Nothing left to recapture. Almost the entire team was fired just after the release of CnC4.

I just completed mission number 3. I am here to report a minor bug and to make a comment:

Bug: After placing 2 beastmasters (I am not good with names) inside a tunnel they got stuck in there forever. Thank god for the third spot and for the Tiberium Garden cz otherwise I would have to travel a lot on foot.

Comment: Seriously how cool is the Tik Tank combined with the engineer dude? If microed properly soon you can max the rank and have a self healing ultra dps siege monster.

@GDICOmmander777, Hi, I just want to give my 2 cents on your comment about the sonic tower. There I am trying to figure how to bring it down. Obviously I have to use tick tanks as they are the only siege weapon available at that mission. 1) i went for the power plants. Failed as the tanks get in range of the defensive structures.
2) I try to put them on siege mode for all the extra hp and armor. Failed again. The damage these take while deploying is way too much unless you really micro them and it is way too hard without a line indicating their range. 3) I mass them and attack at normal mode just focusing fire on each defensive structure. Success! Not just success though, almost no losses as well. This alone indicates that these should change a bit, otherwise what's the point of siege mode.

If we put aside the hatred for CnC4 (I liked some parts of it btw, I just mean hatred by others), we can all agree that Scrapbus was strangely fitting the Forgotten lore. It must be that combination of something innocent like a school bus being reused for something brutal. I must admit that a schoolbus with guns is an intriguing concept.

Helo there to all of you,

I have a question: Is the reflecting ability of venoms removed? I can not seem to find it. I downloaded a map which separates factions with a large bridge which I destroyed on purpose and I was hoping to destroy the enemy base with the new beam cannons sending their beam on venoms and from venom to venom I was planning to reach enemy territory and take down some key structures.

Anyone can help?

Carnius after a few matches I think you should not fix the Conqueror unit. It should not get healed by corruptors. That way is a more defensive epic, used for protecting base or expansion bases. Otherwise I would do what I always do in KW: Spam 10 corruptors, get the epic and destroy everything. Right now it feels it needs more tactical use.

For some reason I can force fire in CnC3. I haven't played for 3 months so my memory is fading. Maybe you can force fire only structures and environment but not units. I did upgrade it and it gets way better. If only epics could walk over other vehicles like in KW.

I think that we will have to sacrifice units to make that one useful cz right now it dies too easy and it can not walk over enemy T3 units as the epics in KW can. I am going to try tomorrow to destroy my own tripods with force fire ability and see how good this epic baby will become with their technology.

I suppose you made large units not able to walk over smaller on purpose? Just curious. I base most of my tactics on running over so I had a hard time adjusting my playstyle.

And if I am not mistaken the Scrin epic is not able to heal by corruptors, right?

All of you that worked for previous versions and for latest version are extremely talented and hardworking individuals. I really appreciate your effort and your patience.

Good job. You made a mod that shows how vanilla CnC should originally look.

And even if mods usually have bugs and incompatibilities, TE is more stable than the original game.

I consider you as talented as the original Westwood designers and I have as much fun with your game as I had back in 98 with Dune 2000.

In short, GREAT JOB!

Angela I suppose that you are a new player, right? All new players usually go turtling, so their opponents have enough time to build tons of everything. You could try a rush strategy but even if this works very good in vanilla CnC, in Carnius' mod this needs more micromanagement, specially on hard. So instead I propose you to spam defenses. In this mod defenses are much stronger than the ones of the original game. Have enough of those and yous base will be unpassable, specially by aircraft. Now I also assume that you make the typical mistake of every new player: You have only 2, 3 at best harvesters. To win a game you need 6 harvesters and enough refineries to keep the money flowing constantly. May I also suggest a map with a narrow passage so that you block it from early game with towers and units? Have fun...

Carnius can not affect the campaign script on purpose. However sometimes the changes he makes do indeed make a better campaign experience. I strongly suggest you to try the Scrin campaign. I captured an entire GDI base using ONLY the scrin commando while I completely ignored my reinforcements. And on the last mission you have to defend the Tower from the MK2 among other things. Having 25 squads of disintegrators destroying MK2 like trillions of ants attacking an elephant and eventually making him kneel feels epic.

Carnius is indeed very talented.

In case it helps this is the way I abuse it:

1) I send 2 scouting stormriders (or whatever the smallest fast Scrin aircraft is called).

2) Detect the weakest spot in the base

3) Wormhole 15 Mantas there

4) Activate the storm ability

It is costy (15 mantas, wormhole, storm upgrade) but it is so effective that I am not sure about the balance. And by effective I mean that harvesters are instantly destroyed as well as most refineries till the opponent has a chance to do anything. You obviously know better and I am sure you will do the best.

EDIT: and about the campaign, oyu should try it. Having the Scrin tower in the last mission attacked by the MKII is a lifetime experience.

memento82 - - 33 comments @ Tiberium Essence

I think Manta is too overpowered right now. If you survive early game harassment and then manage to spam Mantas you win easily. They counter everything: Vehicles, buildings, aircrafts, just anything.

In a way they remind me the Scorpion unit from Age of Empires 2. Generally it was a very weak unit but if you managed to have more than about 15 of those then enemy numbers and units made no difference.

Just like the Scorpions from AOE2 , 15 Mantas can create a line that can not be passed or a force that will bring down any base that has a weak spot allowing them to enter.

EDIT1: By the way it was in your plans to have a mod that makes the campaigns even better, or you got lucky? I mean particularly the Scrin campaign felt epic with your mod on both normal and hard.

EDIT2: Of course thank you for all the work you put into it and for the amazing results this work has.

I am ashamed to ask but what the hell. Where can I find a list with all the changes and modifications of Tiberium Essence?

Even if it is fun to discover those while playing I am afraid I might miss something.

Thank you in advance.

I do not know if this needs changing but I am going to mention it and I am sure you guys know better what to do with it:

The NOD commando if he goes epic he can 1 shot all vehicles and 2 shot a mammoth tank. Fun but still... strange.
