3ds max isnt free. and to be able to use the scripts and plugins i use for other games, i need the full version... I use Gmax/RenX for most of the stuff in ZH. but more complex animations are best done in 3dsmax
ahhhh... no. the gtx690 IS better in some games, but the difference isn't THAT big.. And as for the physx thing, a lot of new games support it.

Why, yes. I do XD. And WHOLESALE from Nvidia (commercial business discount)..... And I dont have $400 to renew my 3ds max 2012 license, so im in the same boat i was before.. Just this time i have a really fast computer XD

haha, the cards were overstock that couldnt be ran with hardware available. (my dads company bought them wholesale for $360 each, and couldnt return them) so i got them for free lol... i had a gtx 460 1gb first..
As for a solution for the low res skyboxes (that is what homeworld uses for backgrounds right?) could you just make a collage of different textures and make the final compilation of the images the target resolution? Understand? B/c I just confused myself....
I used to work with Taxi on Evolutions, but left b/c I was never contacted for any work. Anyway, I'm working on getting my mod tools back up and running. 3dsmax 2012 isnt working anymore, half of my stuff wont run on W7 64bit.. its frustrating, plus im trying to go to college

Sorry, but no. Unless you just copy your entire ZH directory and install this over the copy. No chance of making it stand-alone, its impossible.

well, i wouldnt say this mod is dead just yet... i really still just need a good animator/ modeller... and my 3ds max 2012... that i paid $500 for :/

@ Alex, Yea I was thinking that, but It only looks this light because of the map, its a "sub-tropical" map, like The Silent Cartographer... Because it is,lol

The AA turrets are most likely gonna be in, im actually modelling a bunker from scratch (GASP!)

i have a nvidia 5200fx, P4 2.8ghz, and one gig of ram, and with 8 UNSC players (settings maxed btw) and about a thousand units in the game at once.... i had around 15 fps... yes it is playable, and my version also has almost all units replaced with high poly models... so yea, low end is okay
but still, it LOOKS good, lol
The model is not being used for commercial purposes, so it IS legal.... the act of getting it.... idk about, one of my friends gave it to me.... but, my computer cant run C&C3 on low.... but the models havent caused any game related issues at ALL.... trust me, I was surprised when it worked with out crashing, and last night, I played another game with 8 UNSC players, and they used Pelicans a lot... no problems whatsoever, ill post screenies later, I would do video... but, my computer cant record without my ZH FPS going to 1.2
wtf!? GTFO Taxi, I did have to redo the interior, re-map parts of the model, and about 4 hours of other work with that ONE unit.... AND! im sorry that right now im working ALONE on the mod, I have internet for maybe 5 hours a week, and I admit, my modeling skills arent great, but im learning and getting better... So stop trolling!

instead of completely redoing it, try sharpening the edges up... it helps wonders with different games.... and test it ingame and have screenies of the ori and new side by side, that way its easier to tell which is better :D
