"When you begin developing a mod you should start small. Don't plan to write a Total Conversion (TC) from the very start. If you set goals that are too hard to reach, you'll get frustrated in the process of working towards them; and you may never be able to bring the vision to life. Everyone has ideas. Everybody thinks they have a revolutionary new game concept that no one else has ever thought of. You have to be able to implement your ideas or provide some useful skill. If you become a skilled or notable mod author, you will find people propositioning you to implement their ideas. Never join a project whose idea man or leader has no obvious development skills. Never join a project that only has a web designer. You have your own ideas. Remember that developing a mod doesn't mean much if you never release it."

well...I may as well blog this for people to see.

It's about the whole Dungeon Keeper III thing years ago, but it's needed to get into some peoples skulls.

If you look into it more, Peter.M had the chance to not completely sell Bullfrog out to EA Games.
In the long term, I'm glad otherwise seeing as how C&C is today, there could be a Dungeon Keeper 5 or something that would be complete cogwash.

Think about whats best, not what you feel is what you want.
Because if EA Games did come out with a Dungeon Keeper III there'd be nothing.
I respect EA Games for not making a Dungeon Keeper III, with a bit of luck, they may even make it in a few years time and crack down with some extremely difficult advanced coding for a completely new engine for it just to make it such a success, that is what I'd want to see, not just a pointless money maker to make the fans shut the fuck up for a while until they complain.
But to have a game from EA Thats actually worth buying, that wouldn't be so bug ridden, that looks good, has the same feel as DKI did plus more.

If EA decided to go forwards and make a Dungeon Keeper III, I'd want them to spend loads of f*cking time on it, they have enough money and other games to fall back on, but I'd love it if they were secretly making a DKIII for the length of what Duke Nukem Forever has taken now.

Long Live Dungeon keeper and hope for the title to not be spoilt again.
(By again, I do mean that DKII was a pitiful shadow of DKI, it is a bugged up game that was never completely patched, DKI was a lot better, those who say DKII is better than the first are those who have never played DKI at all or rarely, graphics does not make a game good...
PS: F-U for anyone who contradicts that last bit with Crysis because it lacks gameplay, but thats besides the point at hand)

By all means, anyone or everyone correct me on things that are wrong, or at least try.
