How to open .pmd files? I need access to units - infantry, citizens and cavalry to make them suitable for game, similar to existing ones and look Egypt-like ;)

I would like to start with the infantry - hom to open 0A.D. mesh? it's .pmd file format - how to extract it to simple .dae? ;)

Ok!!! - 3ds Max can import .dae format :)
But how to do this? Where are the 0A.D. .dae files and where are the textures to it?
And how to create new unit or just swap the ones that exist?

several changes in AI economy are necessary:
1. citizens often want to cut tree that is outside the map and is not visible - is it possible to make improvement in algorythm that tree can be generated only inside the random map at reasonable distance from the boarder of the map? (same things with animals or metal and stone)
2.improve AI to plow the fields all the time (it's often that many workers stop nearby centre of the village and do nothing after field is depleted). Maybe even make the field unexhaustable - the only inexhaustable resource in the game and it will be possible to exchange it in the market (that would cause the player can rebuilt his civilization even after very hard losses and even in very late part of the game) :)
3. workers often can't find the way or one stops another and all of them just stucking... make algorythm that makes after 10 exactly the same moves one worker stops for several seconds - then rest can pass him ;)

How to change models and textures in the game? I'm using 3ds max and sometimes I like to pimp something up in the game I play - Is it possible in 0A.D.? For example can I import infantry into 3ds Max - change it - and export the new model into the game?
Some modding tutorial would be nice... ;)
I was wondering to start creating Egypt faction :D

One more thing - Sdkfz 251 armed with flamethrowers do not affect on buildings :/
However it is capable to deal with infantry :)

I just wonder... Is it possible to make AI playing as Wehr and using StuGs? Now Geshutzwagen is used :/

StuGs are more "german" constructions - far more popular than unliked by german crews unreliable Hotchkiss-based hybrids :) That was Axis most popular armored fighting vehicle! ;)

(Oh, and StuGs look much more respectful ;))Or maybe you add more powerful StuG instead of Geschutzwagen as a reward unit...(It can have Geschutwagen statistics to make change simpler)

The similar situation is with Elites' Panzer IV - real workhorse among german tanks - that was much better construction and far more popular than Hotchkiss :) I'm not a historical accuratness freak - changing this models will just make german factions more "climatic" :D

And only to mention (it's not a critic - I,m your fan! :)I just want to help you!)
1. M4 Sherman 105 - the hull is not opening when the gunner comes out - I adore this model and would love to see this part animated ;)
2.M8 Armored Car - there is lack of the 50cal. before the gunner :) maybe something has been acccidentally deleted :)
3.In "Old" type Sherman - the barrel is too long to operate with the Crab Mine Flail ;)
4.All saves with russian fraction in-game and several with other fractions cannot be loaded since 1.6 update :/
5.New sappers - they have commandos-style hat, but also ramained straps from the helmet - can you modify alpha channel to hide straps?
6.Commonwealth jeeps are very different in colours - only suggestion to make them more similar :) equipment makes that the diffrence will be even then well seen ;)

At last - THANKS FOR THIS MOD!!! :D
And I hope I won't be banned for these statements :D

Hey! That mod looks promising. I'm quite busy but even though I'm even quite willing to help ya. I can work on infantry textures (models are really nice) and do whole models from time to time ;)(unfortunately I can't animate them)
