He just wants to have an easy peasy stroll through the Zone. While playing something happened that triggered him and he felt the need to vent on MODDB.

1) Head Bobbing can still be adjusted.
2) Without investing into the Sharpshooter perk, use low crouch. It greatly reduces weapon sway.
3) You can switch back the UI in the options menu to get ammo information back.
4) Saving can be modded back in, but I personally really like the changes. It forces you to play more slowely and be more aware of your surroundings.
5) Don't use weapons with bad conditions. Looting them is a waste of time. Check the world for weapon spawns.
6) Invest in protective gear to counter radiation. Had no issue during my playthrough.
7) Vehicles: Yeah some maps would benefit from usable vehicles. At least a similar system like the one used in Anomaly would be nice.
8) If you want to earn money, do side quests. DCE introduces a lot of them on all maps.
9) You can go through the arena to enter the Bar area.
10) Don't fight mutants in the open. Use your surroundings to get an advantage.

Seems to me that you don't have a clue how to engage with more demanding Stalker mods. I hope you'll never touch A.R.E.A. or OP 2.2.

Sure, can add Top Left / Right clock options with a future update.

Thanks, for digging into it! But since the default compass texture has no background, the numbers get hidden via alpha channel. It works fine ingame.

Had a similar experience, but found out why it happened. After giving him the basic kit and taking the quest for the advanced kit, the dialogue offers to finish the job. This happens despite not having the right kit in the inventory.
But if you click it then, the quest becomes broken and cant't be finished any more. Even if you now have the advanced kit.

These are Gnomus scopes. Exactly the same ones are currently used by LA. What you are seeing are just two different scopes for the G36. The picture you linked uses the upper scope texture and LA uses the lower one.

Fact is that LA isn't the cause of your PC shutdowns. You should monitor what is happening.

Their can be a lot of dirt in your case, even after "just" one year. I clean my case every two or three weeks.

Either your case has a bad air flow or it is really dirty. If it's the later, clean it. Don't forget the fans.

This screenshot was taken after a 2.5h play session: Abload.de

I barely reach 65°C with my GPU (room temperature of 21°C) while playing LA.

Well, some time ago I contacted dezodor because I wanted to know the current texture changes of 1.3004. I somewhat came back to LA after nearly one year and wanted to continue my texture mod I started short after LA's launch (can be found at the GSC forum).

Instead of continuing my mod, a complete rework will be part of the DC. So the texture work has no impact on the work the team has done so far and is doing currently. They just took the opportunity.

There shouldn't be a performance drop at all. Resolution wise all new textures are in line with the better vanilla ones. Only small 256x256 or 512x512 textures were doubled in size if they are widely used or placed on large objects. Like this one: Tinyurl.com

I was quite surprised by OL's companion system. They work generally very well, just like everything AI related in OL. The only thing I don't like is watching them sprint ... the sprint animation looks simply too retarded. But that's how they are in Stalker games. :)

Sorry posted the wrong link. There is a SoC version with LA patch here:

What blur option?

No, it just means that I hadn't the time to play the last week. xD

I will continue it for sure.

I personally really like your mod and played OL 3.1 once and the main story a second time until NPP. I like your location / NPC changes a lot. They were really refreshing. I was fine with the difficulty and enjoyed the improved stealth technique.

But I think quite a few people didn't like the somewhat outdated visuals (textures & meshes) of OL. I personally didn't had a problem with it, I applied my personal Stalker texture pack, merged the new OWR3 into OL and put my personal ENB on top of that.

Sure, I did download and used your first patch published via MEGA Link "OL3_bugfix_test_01.rar". I'm currently using your latest patch "OL_3_01_patch_RC.zip".

But I only got a bind_stalker.script error once within X-10 short before deactivating the scorcher. The game failed to spawn the Monolith and CTDs during the level transition back to Radar.

The other CTDs are, my guess, tied to OL's blowout system and caused by me saving / loading the game while a blowout is going to happen or has already started. Due to the dull weather and constant rain it's hard for me to tell wether it is save to save the game or not.

I'm currently at the swamps and encountered another bug that causes a CTD: Shooting a Flesh near the first houses after entering the level causes this. Using the "bin" folder someone posted in your thread at the GSC forum resolves the issue.

I'm really torn apart by this mod. It contains so much cool content, but also a lot of flaws and inconsistencies. I read the long description and knew what to expect, but I have to be honest: The faction changes, the heavy militarised zone together with the strange NPC respawn system are a major enjoyment drop for me. Sometimes they spawn right in front of you or in waves that never seem to end.

On the other hand the combat AI, wander AI and the general NPC group-movement are just excellent. I also like the fact that NPCs wander around and loot dead bodies. But this isn't without flaws either: because of this some of them have quite valueable inventories and the player is never without money, artifacts or ammo. The game is due to this really easy.

I also dislike the weather system. It's always dark and rainy. I only got clear weather a couple of times for a few ingame hours. I don't know if it's intended or not, but I it's simply too dull for me.

Some other bugs I encountered:

1. In rare cases the script systems goes crazy and produces error stacks which lead to a heavy unplayable FPS drop. Loading an earlier save fixes this.

2. If a Blowout is about to happen right after loading a game, it will most likely crash a few second later.

3. In X-10 the scene after deactivating the brain scorcher doesn't trigger and the game crashed after the next loading screen.

4. I also encountered the already mentioned sidequest issues (Nimble, Duty weapon)

5. The mod seems to contain some faulty meshes (armor, body?) which can lead to wired camera spinning after sleeping or stretched polygons from dead NPCs.

6. The Spas 12 mesh wasn't properly smoothed after editing which resulted in really ugly visuals while in 1st person.

It has nothing to do with monopoly. Go through the points jackstarr made and you have enough reasons.

Managing a great project like SIC takes time and effort. Especially if work of other mod authors is incorporated. Their wishes must be accepted as well.

But my personal big point of just maintaining one mod page is the support that needs to be given. SIC gets a lot of comments and questions. Supporting these on more than one site is just a waste of time, I could invest better in creating new mod content.

Hi,

I'm the original author of this mod. You neither have permission to upload this file, nor will you ever receive it.

The only thing you can do is to letting me take over the mod on ModDB without creating trouble.
I already informed the ModDB staff members and if you aren't willing to do so, they will.

Greetings
