as long as OGSR includes its own XR3DA.exe (which it definitely does) and Lost Alpha definitely has its own engine as well, they will be fatally incompatible.

You released it sooner than I thought. I have some questions.
1. What is SOC MM music?
2. Is it okay if I copy the mod into an already existing LA V3? Will saves work? I'm already in Lab X7 in the story. I'm also asking because the textures in the new version are 246MB, while the textures in the old version are 280,5MB.
3. And one more thing. Maybe this doesn't belong here, but I'll ask anyway - tesselation. I have it on and maxed out, but it doesn't work in my opinion, I know what tesselation is and how it works.

Hi zlostnypopolnik!

1. MM music is (main menu music) from SOC
2. There were only some minor things that changed from V3 to LAR (besides the duty quest fork). I would just finish the play through on V3 imo. Then install LAR if you want to do a Duty play through later down the road.

One Stalker in Darkscape was collecting something from the ground and when I started trading with him he had 2 artifacts in his inventory. I've never seen anyone sell artifacts before.

Hm. Is this something like a final last update for the ENG Lost Alpha? I know there have been updates on the RU side but I guess these never shipped over to the ENG version.

Yes, this is the final version of LA from any of the original developers (me). I have included a few of the RU addons in this version, check out the patch notes for detailed info.

Did you really have to remove all possibilities to use any spawners?

I would now have to replay a few hours of the game just because someone gets pissantsy and wants to have people play the buggy mess thats stalker only completely their way.
The docs i had to bring barkeep just ******* fell through the floor to never be seen again.

I didn't remove anything related to the dev console, I wouldnt even know how to. Take that up with the RU dev who modded the engine for DC.

You need to install LA DC 1.4007 as in my instructions first (parts 1-6 under this file in the files section), then install LAR.

Please read all install instructions under the description here to ensure you install correctly.

Hello there!
I have followed the install instructions, however I have encountered some problems while playing the game:
1st: no minimap

2nd: missing voice line of Sidorovich from the beginning

3rd and most irritationg problem (for me): when I install any of the comp versions (doesn't matter wich one: comp 1, comp 2, comp 3 or REVISTED[LAR]) the gameplay seems not smooth to me. Like this game is running on a potato. Eventhough I have choosen the lowest settings and still with this comps fells like the game is lagging. When I install only the v1.4007 I don't encounter with this problem, the gameplay is smooth there. What should I do?

Hi,

1. No mini map is part of the mod, it's in the patch notes. To get mini map back though look in \gamedata\config\ui, just delete, or create a new folder and move both "zone_map_" files

2. I use the original VO for sid from SOC, because the newer RU VO sounds nothing like the orginal Sid. That is a new line that did not exist then, which is why that line is missing.

3. Are you using an AMD graphics card? If so LA and AMD can be a mixed bag. The other thing that may be more intensive is the item usage mod, especially on older systems if you are already playing on the low settings.

3. Yes. I'm using AMD Radeon R5 M335. I'm playing on a laptop, it's from 2016, also got an i5 U6200 and 8 GB RAM. I know it's not much for today's standart, but shouldn't run Stalker like that I mention above.

What is "item usage mod"?

If you don’t want to use the RU VO lines, then delete the folders below. Though some files I made silent will still play, like annoying laugh/high pitch sounds in some areas.

And that laptop is way old + AMD, there are some settings that do help, but I don't know them, you will have to search around.

its way easier to just take hud mode off minimal (inside the configurator) so you get the minimap back

I tested V4, I finished V3 3 times, my game settings are practically on max, sometimes the game freezes for a microsecond, but I don't notice it at all. It's simply the X-Ray Engine.
I also have the "grass" mod and HD NPC Pack 1.00 installed.
AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Six-Core Processor, 3400 Mhz
GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
16GB DDR4 RAM
SSD

I had a gaming laptop at home similar to yours, only it had a GeForce 630M graphics card, if I remember correctly. I also had problems with the game when I set the game to higher details. In my country there is a saying:
- you can't build a castle out of ****

So, I verified that Developer Mode still can be enabled in vanilla DC 1.4007 (adding -developer to the configurator shortcut), but not in LAR. Amy way to do that in this version?

There are no changes that would effect that in my mod. Only thing that might is the included updated launcher, as it uses DCE's newer exe. I have no clue about the dev mode as I never use it though, so you will need to do your own research.

It seems to me that in the new launcher the dev mode is removed completely, so it doesn't matter what parameter you write after the shortcut. I couldn't start dev mode even in vanilla LADC 1.4007, the old launcher suddenly didn't worked for me, I waited for an update, then it worked, but dev mode was no longer there.

How does spawn stuff work in LA? I know that this mod does not change spawns. Sometimes there are less enemies and artifacts, and sometimes there are 40 of them, I counted, only boars there were at least 40 - North Hills, it's fun to run away from them and lure them into anomalies. I collected at least 20 artifacts in the Old Road yesterday. I have only found a few there in the past. Yesterday I found 3 artifacts (Old Road - Zombie Village) in one place in the basement of a house.

The basics of it is just a range setup for npc/monster spawns i.e. boar 1-4 in areas.

re: old road, those 3 in the basement of the house are static spawns and always there, along with a few others. The rest is just random though, whether it be spawned on ground, or in anomaly.

I'm very happy that you continued working on your compilation!

I have some questions, is it possible to extend sun details shadow distance? It looks very good but the shadow distance is very close to the camera.

Is it possible to remove the dynamic PDA messages from stalkers (like jokes, etc...)?

Re: Sun shadows, not sure sorry. There may be a setting in the console, type "help" if you want to scroll through all the commands, or just "sun" to see if something related pops up.

Re: Dynamic news, ya it is possible. It was pretty easy to implement, but I would have to go back through the files to let you know how to remove it safely. However, that wont happen for a while (maybe a month or so). It is Holiday season here in the states and I am taking a break.

Cool! I've been looking through the "r2_sun" variables but nothing helps, it's engine locked, I know LA had it at some point because some old official screenshots had sun details / shadows on grass way in the distance, maybe a dll hack?

I'm trying to find what controls the crouching, I already increased the running speed from 1.2 to 1.6 as 1.2 was really too slow for me (in config/creatures/actor.ltx), but I'm not sure if I'm looking at the right file for the crouching speed, I like the new animation a lot, but it's a bit too slow for my liking (I'm much faster when I do squats hahaha).

I just discovered that shooting artefacts a dozen of bullets makes the game crash! One should avoid shooting artefacts then! I think it's a base game crash not your compilation's fault.

I only ever shot an artifact a couple times to push it out of an anomaly... Did you unload a whole clip into one or something lol?

Never heard of that happening before, would think it is some odd engine bug.

Hmm not sure. I may be wrong, but I think any change in mechanics with the cross hair is script/engine related (i.e. making it dynamic like you want), so not something I would even know how to do.

yo tamazz cut out a microscopic square or circle of black electrical tape, stick it to the center of your monitor. Ive had the same black piece of tape on my monitor for like 10yrs now i dont even notice its there anymore. To find the true-center of your screen just aim down the scope or iron sights in any shooter game. You now have a new crosshair that will now work with any game permanently and forever!

Its so contrasted and perfect that i can even use it perfectly in dark tunnels and stuff in lost alpha

Hi, I need a crash log to see, please download notepad++ if you do not have it. Also, are you using LAR, or LADC or DCE?

Go to where you have LA installed, then \appdata\logs. Make sure to open the most recent file named "xray_XXXXX.log" (where X should be your computer name). Scroll all the way to the bottom, you will see some headers like: error, stack trace or fatal error.

Copy and past about the last 20 lines. DO NOT copy and paste the entire log as it is way to long and I will delete the post then. JUST copy and paste the last 20 lines.

I provoked 3 crash, check all the logs and nothing, even with search option on notepad for words "error, crash and etc.". Just got black screen, but engine on task manager is still running.

Oh, so it happened in normal DC as well, even before installing LAR? That is odd then... Unfortunately, without an actual normal log, I wont be able to really help. Typically it is engine related though if it just black screens with no log.

There is no console command to do that. There is a dev mode out there, I am not even sure you can add info portions or skip levels with it anymore though, if you got it working. You would need to research on your own about how to get it working though, I do not know anything about it.

Game crashes if you already have X-Virus Antidote in your inventory. I stashed all 5 X-Virus Antidotes, I have earned before. No more crash in Deedee's initial dialog.

ohhhh interesting! Thanks BarTwoOne, great observation, I will add that to the patch notes list to stash any x-virus first. I am glad it is not Duty specific then, at least if nothing else comes up.
