You want the truth? You can't handle the truth! Apparently, neither can I...
This is the non-widescreen version of my COP-inspired inventory for Old Good Stalker Evolution 0.6.9.2 (English version). Updated version, changed options for PDA cover appearing when a weapon is in use, and also fixed the inventory texture for the pistol/shotgun slot. Note: The inventory as a whole is not save-game compatible since three key script files are changed (not to my knowledge anyway, but I've been wrong before!).
Looks really good.
Will there be a widescreen version?
Will there be a widescreen version?
2nded, I imagine it will be used alot more if there's a widescreen version.
Also hoping for widescreen version
Yep... we need a widescreen version!
How do I know if I'm using widescreen or not?
Spread your arms as far as they can reach. If your monitor stretches even further then you probably have a widescreen in front of you.
widescreen sizes are everything above 1280x1024px. (Interpreted by Xray ofc.)
Errr... 1600x1200 isn't widescreen^^

Thanks for the info! I have 16:9.
like i said:"Interpreted by Xray"
the engine uses widescreen values for everything above the resolution 1280x1024. So again, Interpreted by Xray ofcourse. Do you have experience with xray?
I'll need someone to be a guinea pig for the widescreen version, as I don't have a widescreen monitor. Should be simple enough on my end, mainly resizing textures and repositioning the x co-ordinates.
Apologies about having to update this. If you've already downloaded, it isn't that big a deal - just a few tweaks on when the blood drop icon changes colour. If you don't want to download again, you won't end up bleeding to death and only seeing a green blood drop. The change is minute, but I obsess... :P
I love this mod! I have an upcoming project involving SoC and I wanted to know if I could include this as the standard inventory?
Full credit to you, of course. I'd also be willing to test out the widescreen version if you haven't found anyone else.
Sure, but it might be better to download the vanilla/mod-mergeable version in that case, since I highlighted the parts of bind_stalker, bind_monster, and xr_motivator that need merging from the files of that version. I also have at least one other offer on the widescreen version, and the more the merrier, so thanks. :)
what about widescreen ones?
Me like...
An update on the widescreen version:
What I'm doing is resizing all the textures to an 854x768 canvas, copying the textures, then stretching the canvas back out to 1024x768 and pasting the textures back in. Otherwise, my inventory will be stretched the whole 1280 pixels, which won't look too good, especially with the faction patches and character pics. My approach will mean that the inventory will be on the right side of the screen, with a bigger gap between the info box and the left side of the screen (i.e. it won't be any bigger than 1024 pixels in width, with the rest empty space), while the trade and loot panels will be centered (possibly with gaps on the right or left of the screen, or just the 'rim' texture of the panels). The talk panel is easiest since it is always centered and see-through with spaces all around, so I just need to resize and reposition along the x-axis.
I don't think it's a good idea to let the ui stretch, though, as it won't ever look good that way.
come on guys, 8 out of 10 monitors r wide screen. where is the wide screen edition ?????
It will be done when it is done. I am working on the widescreen version, but my monitor is not widescreen, which is why I worked on the 4:3/5:4 version first. I'm stuck with windowed mode on a 1280x1024 monitor, which won't allow for the optimum widescreen resolutions. I'm sure a few more days can't hurt.
Should be sending out files for the widescreen version for a test today. If all goes well, I'll be able to upload both the vanilla and OGSE widescreen versions by the end of the day or early tomorrow.
The widescreen version is now uploaded.
There is a small patch for all versions coming up, just messed up ui_custom_msgs, but it's a tiny, quick and easy patch, fully save-game compatible. I basically moved the wrong HUD timer text off-screen.
Not sure if it was intentional, but I absolutely love the fact that there's no ammo indicator (ammo left) with this installed. You actually have to unload the gun to see how many rounds you have left. Sort of stresses you out when coming across a pack of angry dogs. :)
I want to underscore that it's the third-party addon for OGSE, which doesn't support by OGSE team. So install it only on your own risk.
Is possible make compatible this menu-addon for 0.6.9.3?
Will this ever be patched for newest version?
