You want the truth? You can't handle the truth! Apparently, neither can I...
Ezeht...the LA is not a mod any longer. If you do not wish to pay for it, fine, it's no skin off my nose nor anyone else's. Just don't go around calling it a mod when it has grown well beyond that. Dezowave have been allowed to do things with the game engine no one else is allowed to do with most games. Even what most modders are doing with dll files is technically illegal, and Dezowave have been allowed by GSC themselves to go beyond simply tweaking dll files.
Heh, I couldn't read the recent interview with the sales team member due to not being able to read Russian (and Google Translate didn't manage a very good job of it either). Certainly explains the delay, and I knew it'd be something important. It makes sense, since you've been allowed to do things with the engine many modders dream of and will never be allowed to do with a vast majority of games. Keep up the excellent work, no rush*.
*I'm not saying that last bit because my computer's BSOD issues would prevent me from playing LA at the moment anyway - honestly!
I believe it's the gameplay video released, the 'Latest Video' above the comments. :)
But...but...42 is the answer to the greatest question there ever was. If the release date of the LA isn't the question, then what is? The meaning of life? Hah, that'll be the day! ;)
I know, the release date is...42!
And solitaire! :D
Old Good Lost Alpha Requital Lurk DMX Narodnaya AMK Dead Zone Super Oblivion Storyline Evolution Mod, more like. :P
One possibility (just speculation) is that LA could be released 10 years after the original planned release of Stalker (2003-2013).
And I will prepare myself for hiding in a corner of X18 like a nancy once again. True story - I was hiding for 20 minutes before I mustered the courage to retrieve the documents from that wailing monster.
Tejas has undoubtedly spent a great deal of time creating the LA Liquidator tests during his beta playthrough.
Laser screwdriver! Can you hear it, the sound of drums? :P
If you bothered to read the information posted above, you'd know not to ask that question. It is definitely not dead.
I ain't going in there, that's for sure!
I'd like to say somewhere on the old version of Yantar, what with the path hugging that bank. However, I don't have access to the old builds, so I'm out too.
In the Zone, excitement contains you! :D
You're not from around here are you? In these parts, we make impatient people pay with their first born. Or a chicken, 'cos I like chicken.
Most AAA developers cut content from their productions, at least so they can be added in as DLC later on. Dezowave seem to be adding more and more. :)
Nah, if Life After People taught us anything, it's that the power would go out after a short while anyway. Shame about all the meltdowns, etc, though - but Humanity won't be around, so we don't have to worry. :D
*Wakes up from a drunken slumber in his armchair.
You mean he'll be coming back as the Marked One (C-Consciousness believed he was dealt with accordingly!) and cause mayhem?
It'll be just like the Book of Eli, only with a laptop instead. 'The Laptop of Microsoft'. :D
I've had such dreams too... Fighting in the Cordon against Bandits, aiding a group of Stalkers in finding a safe spot from an approaching Blowout. Cut it *very* close...
Gotta get past 21/12/2012 first. Maybe we'll have tape recorders and solar-powered calculators back by 2025. :P
What about an app for mobile phones? People could play on the bus or train ride to work. :P
I predict a 12/12/12 release date, with lots of features cut and to be added in via DLC, not to mention almost entirely broken on the PS3. Plus lots and lots of bugs. :D
Technically, you mean 2000 (December 31st to be exact, not January 1st :P), since there was no year 0. All of the years 1AD-1000AD and 1001AD-2000AD encompass two whole millenniums. So, the new millennium actually began in 2001.
*Sheldon (Big Bang Theory) moment: If you should take offense at my statement, then I'm sorry that you took offense at me pointing out where you are clearly wrong. :D
I dare say there'll be more than 100 stalkers, since if you divide that number by the number of maps (minus the underground levels), you'll likely end up with around 5-6 stalkers per map - far too empty for many players. There'd be very little interaction with NPCs, and far fewer battles with hostile NPCs.
Except you don't need SoC installed for the LA. :P
