Hello, is the post-processing done in-engine or is it injected through Reshade? Can we adjust things like bloom and ambient occlusion ourselves? There seems to be a bit too much of both in the videos and screenshots I've seen.

Games like Crysis and Stalker pretty much NAILED the photorealistic lighting/environment look from the get-go and nearly every modding attempt at improving those visuals tends to only downgrade them. Other than improving the textures, vegetation render distance and maybe a few other subtle things, there's really not that much that one could hope to improve before the end result looks like generic modern asset flip #9000.
So, I'm glad that you decided to rework the mod with the aim to keep the vanilla aesthetics untouched.
50GB indeed seems a little bit much considering the age of the game. Sometimes I wonder if we really need 4K+ res textures and millions of polygons big assets in what is ultimately a ~2007 game engine with a few community updates.
I'm just nitpicking though, I'll still play the mod.
This looks very promising
Kind of hard to tell if this even works without a mod settings menu to compare stuff on and off. I literally can't tell if the screen spaced shadows are even working.
Still making mods for this relatively obscure franchise. True chad
Although the people here in the comments probably don't really care anymore, for any future players you can disable the *weapon* DOF by opening the Quality Mod's settings with the F8 key. If you want to remove the overall DOF unfortunately you can't, at least not in-game. For some reason blackfire mod overrides MALDOHD's settings (you can turn off DOF in Maldo's mod), and so DOF is forced to be turned on. However you can change it's strength by again using the Quality mod's settings (F8).
Having a Greek faction would be superb. They are the most underrepresented country in WWII games (I don't think they're even mentioned anywhere other than a few RTS mods) and they're non-existent in what few WW1 games there are, which is a shame.
The more online mods the better. They've all been stuck in development hell so far so competition is good. Maybe this will force some of them to speed the **** up a little.
SSR never worked properly in reshade for the simple reason that it's always on and affects all surfaces all the time whether it's raining in-game or not, whether the surface should be reflective or not. What's more in some games it's clearly broken and looks like noise, Stalker being one of those games. And yet you thought it was a good idea to add SSR anyway.
The other effects are gimmicky too and they do more harm than good to the visuals, such as the fake fog effect and unrealistic tonemap colours.
The only good effect here is the ambient occlusion.
Wasn't that bitch shoehorned in by the retard (and probably a redditor) developer? He is so insecure that he even made her stronger than the other NPCs lol and her dialog is peak female entitlement.
"They need to be more tanky and resilient to ammunition overall"
Ok, you go ahead and shoot a mere """mutated"""" dog with buckshot 5 times in the head until it dies, I'll just 1-shot it with a marakov.
So because of irrelevant drama between you and the owners of moddb, you decide the best way to get back at them is by making the mod unavailable to the actual playerbase
Other modders keep focusing on textures as if that will modernise the visuals. You're the only one working on the things that actually matter. Great job
LA is retarded fanfic. OLR on the other hand is as close as you will ever get to playing the absolute, original, Stalker vision of the developers. Nothing else out there comes even close. It is the peak of atmosphere, quest and level design. It completely trashes other "famous" mods like OGSE, AA and other overrated crap. Unfortunately 99% of western stalker fans never played OLR.
2021 and people still think that making everything grey is "atmospheric"
The lazy retards over at BSG can't shut down **** because this is a free mod. As long as you don't make money off of it then BSG can't do ****. Even if the lardass Nikita bitched to the moddb moderators to remove this mod, the author can very simply continue development and upload the mod somewhere else. As for the EFT Weapons Pack, it had nothing to do with BSG. The development was temporarily frozen because of (yet again) retarded mod team drama.
Stalker-2K should be compatible with this, right?
(buried)
Looks too cartoony now.
Why have you removed the newer screenshots?
The english translation is solid. Quests give you enough information, none of them are "wrong". Get used to actually exploring by yourself without your little magical compass, pussy.
Also enemies DO respawn, just not in every map. If you actually played beyond Cordon you would know that. You also claim the mutants are bullet sponges even though weapons damage is significantly higher than vanilla SoC, which tells me your aim is ****.
Get good.
It's just a reshade preset. It works for every game. You simply drop the files in the game directory
Ah yes, because when I go outside during autumn I notice there's overblown contrast, bloom and depth of field everywhere. Yup, that's autumn right there.
It's not in the factory map, it's in the same level as the bar, the "factory" area north of the level where the barkeep gives you quests to go kill bloodsuckers there. In one of the buildings with the beds there is a skeleton and a shotgun in the far corner if I remember correctly. That's where you will find it
CoC is standalone, it doesn't require CoP to be installed. You can bypass their stupid registry check with a shortcut command. Simply add " -skip_reg" in the target line. This works for all CoC clones.
Has anyone made a fast-travel addon for this? The amount of back and forth in this is ridiculous. I have lost count on how many times I had to run across the garbage, hills and swamps because of stupid fetch quests.
The level design improvements look awesome. Stalker maps always needed an overhaul and not a lot of mods bothered with it, and most that did simply half-assed it.
Now we wait for some absolute madlad to port this to CoC and Anomaly
