Is there a way to change the installation location? The only option it gives me is a drop-down menu with all my drives and the only location I can install to is X:\Freelancer Crossfire.

I can't start a new game. Every time I click "Enter the Zone" I get the loading screen for a few seconds and then it goes back to main menu. I haven't encountered this with any STALKER mod before.

EDIT: after a clean install of STALKER it now works. Disregard.

I've read the description and it says to attach it to the belt and turn it on. I've put it on the belt but I don't know how to turn it on. It doesn't beep. There is a "turn on" key bind in options but it doesn't do anything with the detector.

I apologize for not replying sooner, I've just started on a new job and we've been having killer days lately. I'm afraid I won't be having enough time for modding in the next month or two until the things at work settle down a bit.
I did have time to unpack dbs and look at their content, but I have no idea what to do with mod files that are different from db content. I figured I would replace the files that are the same and leave the rest in the gamdata folder. But, that would take more than a few hours which I unfortunately don't have. (I have **** HDD and unpacking and packing is reaaaaaally slow).
I'll give the new download a try and maybe if I have time look into it a bit.

I can't really tell you which I prefer since I played about an hour of each and the only reason I'm interested in them is new areas and side quests - no other features interest me. In that area they're the same. Stability and performance are about the same too.
But from what I saw, this one has better graphics and English translation (JP2 has machine translation, really bad and often not understandable). Also, this one has higher weapon damage. However, loading times are twice or three times longer than JP2, hence my previous comment. I'm sorry I can't tell you more.

Great, but like I said in the review, loading times are horrible. I've noticed that some ns versions like Joint Pack 2 and Stalkersoup which are in .db format instead of gamedata folder format load much faster and I was wondering if turning this in .db format would help.

Sad...
This was THE mod I was going to play since I just recently got back to STALKER after playing it vanilla years ago. But it's not about me, I'll find something else to play. I'm sorry I couldn't help test it due to my limited free time.
I don't get how people failed to realize this is a long ago canceled mod brought back to life and that it was going to need some testing. It says so in the description, but I guess some people don't want to read.

Does the text cut off, or is it completely missing? I noticed text going out of boundaries in menu and some other places when I tried it with 1.0006. One of the things 1.0006 brings is bigger fonts so that is probably the reason why you can't read those descriptions.

Yeah, I found one version of acdc.pl online which works for AMK and I just needed to edit it a bit. That's probably the reason why I couldn't compile it back. Could you share yours once you get access to it? I don't mind waiting since I'm currently struggling with STALKERSOUP too :)

I can't recompile it, I'm getting this error:

Died at acdc.pl line 197, <GEN21> line 3936.

I don't know anything about Perl so I'm completely in the dark here.

Hello, I'm a newbie here, but I managed to do what you described. The coordinates in the rs_stats output don't seem to match coordinates I found in decompiled all.spawn, if I'm looking at it correctly. The output of rs_stats shows the camera position at 366.50, 16.59, -44.07 (I'm standing roughly at the place where the suit is found in vanilla), and the coordinates found in alife_l01_escape.ltx are 368.321899414063, 14.9780321121216, 368.321899414063.
It seems that the third coordinate is wrong, and it corresponds to north-south movement. This corresponds to the place PDA marker is shown at - north of the correct place.
I'll try to recompile it and see if it works.
